I was talking with a friend about the new 2025 Corvette colors this morning when he tells me that my beloved Hysteria Purple Metallic is a low seller so far for the year. In fact, I was told my E-Ray was going to be incredibly rare because nobody is ordering the new color. Well, them are fighting words where I come from! Now that I have a stake in the game, I set out to prove him wrong.
It was time for some 2025 data mining, and our friends at C8tracker.com offer the ability to see all kinds of stats from the Corvette window stickers including the exteriors. We went through and grabbed the totals for each of the colors to create this chart below showing the current quantities of each color ranked by sales.
There really is no surprise with the top end of the chart. White, Black, Torch Red, and Red Mist have been running in that same order for several years now, while Sea Wolf Gray has taken the place for the previous Silver and Hypersonic Gray to hold the 5th position for the year.
After that we have the two blues and the three new colors. The new colors appear to be doing alright with Hysteria Purple showing a 7.8% take rate and just 19 cars behind Riptide Blue. Competition Yellow is also doing well with 7% of exteriors painted in the new Yellow. If you remember, Accelerate Yellow was always a 2% color.
Retail production of Sebring Orange didn’t start the week of October 28th which explains why the former popular color is showing dead last in this count. However, once it came online, it’s beat Rapid Blue each and every week and so we expect Sebring Orange to eventually overtake Rapid Blue in the coming months.

It’s surprising that Sea Wolf Gray is running in fifth place just four short of fourth place Red Mist. Sea Wolf Gray is such a boring color for a Corvette.
I waited for 4 months to see the hysteria purple and was terribly disappointed when I finally did and realized it was BLUE, not purple, so I just kept my 22 , thank ya very much !
What a boring selection of colors, this is one area GM needs to improve.
Accelerate Yellow for Stingrays was consistently in the 3% range. Accelerate Yellow went up to a 5-6% rate for Z06 orders. Clearly, the Competition Yellow is more popular than Accelerate Yellow with the buying public.
When people order a C8 which is a flashy looking car I don’t see why they would ever order it in a boring color such as white or gray. Are they afraid of what people will think of them if they order aflashy color?
Why don’t they have a red like a dark rally red from the 70s or just a regular dark blue or a forest green not a light cacti green ,racing Corvette yellow, dark orange, white, black and silver all in metallic colors.
Hey, some people like ketchup in their coffee!
Proof that GM can offer only 4 colors, and their sales won’t even take a blip of a dive. There are a lot of colorblind elderly people in the Corvette demographic.
Just add SEBRING SILVER to the line up! Not silver flare etc etc.
…..then I’ll buy a C8
