The 670-hp 2025 Z06 is a modern marvel of engineering straight from the factory. But for many Corvette enthusiasts, it’s only the starting point in their pursuit for enhancing performance while also elevating the driving experience.
The owner of this new 2025 Corvette Z06 also runs Northern Performance Cars in Gaylord, Michigan and he wanted to see what kind of power gains he could make with several different aftermarket parts, while also enhancing the look of his car through lowering and wheel offsets. Yet, there is a business component to these upgrades. By doing this work on his own car first, he will have a better idea of what his customers can expect with similar products on their own Z06s.
This is actually a two-part video series in which this new 2025 Corvette Z06 will receive the installation of Kooks headers, a Valvetronic titanium exhaust, and an EVenturi intake in the first video, and then he adds Soler Performance 91mm throttle bodies, and an Antigravity battery during the second video.
We like that he took a base weight reading when the car was stock. The stock C8Z equipped with the Z07 package weighed in at 3645 lbs, nearly out of fuel and with minimal additional weight from accessories. Each of the components he’s adding are weighed first and one of the goals of the project is adding the additional power while also losing some of the stock poundage. Some of the upgrades like the battery and titanium lug nuts are replacing the factory stock parts specifically to lower that base weight.
These videos cover the entire process but speeds up during the installs, so it doesn’t run too long. At the end of the second video, you can hear his overall assessment of the project that includes before and after dyno runs to see the various gains.
From NorthernPerformanceCars via YouTube:
It’s during the second video that we get the dyno results, and our builder is particularly pleased with the EVenturi intake which he believes “is the best bang-for-bang, dollar-for-dollar part that you can buy for a Z06.” Regarding the Kooks Headers and the titanium exhaust system, he says they are great parts, but that the factory components are so good on the car already that gains by these products by themselves are minimal. But when paired with all the other upgrades, he was seeing a 35 WHP gain and an increase of over 40 ft-lb of torque which he says is happening right here you want it on the torque curve.
What did you think of these upgrades for the Z06? Let us know in the comments below!

The 35 WHP and 40 ft-lb torque increases, were very disappointing, while considering the cost of the premium aftermarket parts and his time, ultimately, this exercise do not warrant the upgrades to the engine.
The limiting factor “diminishing returns”, he could not alter GM’s E99 Global B engine Control Module (ECM). GM’s software program strategy of “One size fits all”.
For example, with the C8 Stingray’s, HP Tuners, you can run diagnostics data, date log, and alter everything from boost to air/fuel ratios, camshaft timing, injector timing, and transmission settings. Unfortunately, HP Tuners do not support the mighty C8 ZO6.
PS What a beautiful clean shop.
Many thanks,
Ray
Ray,
I agree, and it probably voids warranty.
I like my Z06 just the way it is.
Which is more HP than I need as it is, especially since I will not track this car.
