Here’s a cool stat we came across from Roger Kiel’s daily C8 production tracker about the state of Grand Sport production. Previously, we noted that production of the new widebody sports car had reached 35% of overall production within the first month, and it continues to hold steady at that same percentage.

But perhaps something else might be in the works based on recent allocations and Roger’s C8 production numbers.

During Wednesday’s production run at the Corvette Assembly Plant, the new 2027 Corvette Grand Sport set a daily production high with 61 new Grand Sports recorded for the day. Wednesday was also the first time the Grand Sport beat the Stingray in daily production as the Stingray finished the two shifts with 56 units produced.

Going back to our most recent allocations report, I had the feeling after hearing from a few dealers that maybe less Stingrays were allocated for this current order cycle:

What surprised me about this consensus was that each of these dealers got a very small number of Stingrays, as the base C8 models are making up 42.5% of current production which is the highest of the six models. However, Grand Sports seem to be in good supply and all dealers I spoke with got a Grand Sport X as well.

I know it’s just one day’s report, so we’ll need to see if this is a new trend for the Grand Sport. I’ve been hitting Roger’s page all day looking for an update!

Wednesday’s production report also totals all the C8s for us based on the ending VIN. The Grand Sport has 1,725 units built versus 2,049 for the Stingray. And as I said, percentage-wise, the GS is still at 35.6% while the Stingray is at 42.3% of C8s produced.

2027 Corvette Production Totals through 8/12/26:

• Stingray: 2,049
• Z06: 690
• Grand Sport: 1,725
• Grand Sport X: 25
• ZR1: 212
• ZR1X: 144

And finally, I need to clean up our previous Grand Sport X report as Roger’s tracker now shows that the first eight GSX units were completed on Monday, August 10. That grew to 10 units on Tuesday and seven on Wednesday for a total of 25 produced through Wednesday.
