Get ready for another record setting Corvette moment at Mecum Monterey on Saturday — because all signs point to the 2026 Corvette ZR1X Stars & Steel Edition stealing the show.
One of just 10 produced in Black, this ZR1X is heading across the block on Saturday, August 15 with an estimated hammer price between $550,000 and $600,000. With only 691 miles, a twin turbo hybrid V8 delivering 1,250 horsepower, and a one year only patriotic livery celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, it’s just the kind of car that sends auction crowds into a frenzy.
The Stars & Steel Edition is already rare — just 270 ZR1X models were produced for 2026 — but this Black coupe is among the most exclusive of the run. It comes loaded with factory performance gear:

• ZR1X carbon fiber aero package
• ZTK performance package
• Carbon fiber high wing spoiler
• Carbon fiber Targa top
• Carbon ceramic brakes with Edge Red calipers
• Carbon Flash forged wheels

• More than $28,000 in factory options
Inside, the two-tone Adrenaline Red leather, heated and ventilated sport buckets, Bose audio, and full tech suite (CarPlay, Bluetooth, navigation, PDR) round out the package. And the performance numbers are staggering: 0–60 in 1.68 seconds and a quarter mile in 8.675 seconds at 159 mph on a prepped track.
Because of GM’s resale restrictions, the car crosses the block without a factory warranty, but that hasn’t slowed demand for these ultra limited ZR1X models.

A Black 2026 ZR1 Stars & Steel Convertible — one of just 25 built and one of only three equipped with the Carbon Aero package — lit up the auction block. It carried build sequence #249 of 250, adding even more collector appeal.
The bidding for that car turned into a marathon sale before the final price hit $561,000 and it shattered the previous Mecum high for a C8 ZR1 — a Black ZR1 Coupe that brought $330,000 at Houston 2026 — and joined the elite company of the Quail Silver ZR1X Convertible, which sold for $605,000 at Indy.
With Stars & Steel models already rewriting the record books, this Black ZR1X Stars & Steel Coupe has the rarity, performance, and pedigree to follow suit. If recent history is any indication, Saturday could deliver another headline making moment for Corvette collectors.
