For much of last year, one of the items constantly on constraint was the Q9I 20-Spoke Gloss Black Wheels. It was the third most popular wheel overall for Stingray buyers in 2024, but it was the top choice of 20-spoke wheel designs for the Stingray. Chevrolet even cut the prices on the two new 5-split spoke designs during 2024 in an attempt provide additional wheel options at a near similar price point as the Q9Is $995 price with little effect.

Now, Chevrolet is introducing another Gloss Black wheel for Stingray buyers. The new wheel will be named RPO QE5 and it’s a 5-Split Spoke Gloss Black with a machined edge. The forged aluminum wheels are sized 19 & 20-inches and are exclusive to the Stingray. It will join the two other 5-Split Spoke Wheels that are offered in Sterling Silver-painted (Q9Y) and Satin Graphite with Machined Edge (Q9O). The Satin Graphite wheel is shown above.

The announcement of the new wheel was made public after it popped up as a Distribution Update this week on the 2025 Corvette Order Guide.

Unfortunately, no pricing or images of the new QE5 wheel have been made available, but we hope to see it priced at $995 which is the same as the Q8Q 5-Open Spoke Wheels in Carbon Flash and the Q9I 20-Spoke Wheels Gloss Black Wheels.

From the Distribution Update:

Effective 1/6/2025, the following changes will be made to the Vehicle Order Guide:

Stingray Exterior section-Added (QE5) Wheels, 19″ x 8.5″ (48.3 cm x 21.6 cm) front and 20″ x 11″ (50.8 cm x 27.9 cm) rear 5-split-spoke Gloss Black with machined edge forged aluminum. It is “A” on all equipment groups.

  1. The problem I see is that the Stingray hasn’t really changed from the initial model year. They are being discounted now and resale values are declining as there isn’t a compelling reason to buy again. In the muscle car era, each model year brought more power and noticeable cosmetic changes. By now, you would think the horsepower would have reached 550 or more and the infotainment system replaced with something better.

  2. I’m 70 and have watched the different generations that tried to offer a decent looking 5 spoke wheel. None of them have kick started my wow system.

  3. Chevrolet isn’t breaking any new ground with these wheels. They look pretty similar to the C7 Stingray’s base 18/19 5-split spoke wheels. I didn’t like the look of the 18/19’s on my Daytona Sunrise Orange C7 Stingray and replaced them with a tire and wheel package with gloss black 19/20 C7 Z06 replicas.
