Enthusiasts should be drooling over this triple black 1968 Corvette convertible that includes a 427/400 horsepower V8 mated with a four-speed manual transmission.
Unfortunately, a successful sale through a current Bring a Trailer auction will bring to an end 46 years of ownership by the same family.
So far, the bid has climbed to $33,427, with five more days left in the auction.
Originally delivered to Frame Chevrolet in Mineola, New York, this Corvette wound up in the hands of the current owner’s brother in 1978. No word on when the brothers swapped ownership, but we are told someone overhauled the 427 back in 2010 and repainted the car in black back then, switching from its original Silverstone Silver.
More recent work includes new rotors and brake pads in 2023, along with a new parking brake, and an oil change in anticipation of the sale.
Also included in the sale will be a black soft top and a removable black hardtop, along with a stand to hold it.
Other features include 15-inch steel wheels with turbine-style covers, stainless steel exhaust system, AM/FM radio, and heater.
We hate to see a car leave a family that’s owned it for nearly half a century, but time marches on.
