The new Corvette ZR1 completely redefines the definition of Corvette Performance as the ZR1’s LT7 is the most powerful V-8 to be produced in America from any automotive manufacturer. The twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8 makes 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque and will produce a top speed comfortably over 215 mph, while estimates for its quarter mile time are sub-10 seconds at 150 mph.
Cutting edge aerodynamics provide plenty of cooling to the twin-turbo V-8 while also providing 1200 lbs of downforce at top speed. A new flow-thru hood puts a massive amount of cool air through the turbo’s intercooler radiators while stall-gurney aero trim around the front of the opening creates a massive low pressure area that sucks the hot air out and over the car. New inlets integrated into the side intake trim’s wishbone provides additional cooling to the engine compartment while new rear air ducts sends air directly to the rear Brembo carbon ceramic brakes. As a nod to the past, the ZR1 Coupes have a new functional split rear window design to help ventilate the engine bay.
Check out the Grand Prize details:
