With the reveal of the 2025 Corvette ZR1 this summer, Corvette enthusiasts have naturally been curious about where exactly the starting MSRP will end up. Some are suggesting this will be the first $200,000 Corvette while others believe that it will start for much less than that.
Our friend Mike from the Brink of Speed YouTube channel looks back at the various previous ZR1s and where they were priced in relation to the other models in the line-up, specifically the Z06. Utilizing this theory, Mike believes the starting MSRP will be a lot more favorable to enthusiasts but watch out for those pricey options as they will quickly add to the cost of the car.
This was a fun video on a fun subject, so make your best guess and then see how you do!

I’m thinking Mike is being a tad optimistic by basing his prediction on the previous dollar value difference, rather than on the previous percentage difference. If the base price of a C7 ZR1 ($120,000) was 50% more than the base price of a C7 Z06 ($80,000), then I would expect the base price of a C8 ZR1 to come in somewhere around $171,000, being 50% more than the base price of a C8 Z06 (now $114,000).
I think Mike is very close to the pricing of the ZR1. I did my own reflecting using the past numbers from previous ZR1s. I’ve owned a 1992, 2010 and 2019 ZR1. Not that that makes me any more enlightened about the pricing of the new ZR1 but watching which each generation ZR1 had increased gives me a hint. My thought is $160k to $170k base price. Real close to Mike’s estimate. Guess we will know for sure in a few weeks.
But the big question remains:
“When does Princess Emelia get hers?”
I too believe Mike is in the ball park.i believe coupe will be 159k plus gas guzzler tax. Options I believed will be more expansive then Mike says. As I am guessing multiple options for exterior carbon fiber.mirriors, intakes, split window, engine brace, carbon fiber wheels, brake caliper color, front lift, black exhaust. Interior same options as Z06. Yes carbon roof comes standard, but do the aero packages come with all the other carbon as you see on the ZTK car? Will be interesting to see. The corvette team has built the first hyper car contender in a production car! A true accomplishment. The new bench mark for Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini! Will be fun to see these three with a ZR1 testing along with one of there prototypes.!
I’ve done this math previously. All of the SR>Z price deltas for C5-C7. All of the Z>ZR1 price deltas for both C6 and C7. And even with factoring in inflation, I consistently arrived at an MSRP base price of $149k – $159k.
My 2 cents…$163,000 base.
