Don’t ask me why I’ve still got a case full of 8-track tapes in my basement – holdovers from my disco days in the late ’70s perhaps.
Nowadays, though, those vintage tapes would be a perfect fit with this white 1977 Corvette T-Top coupe currently available on Craigslist for $20,000 in Chesterland, Ohio east of Cleveland.
The seller says he is firm on that price, and who can blame him for demanding that much since the car has just 26,400 miles on the odometer.
Furthermore, he claims his Corvette “needs nothing” – which might make it a smarter option in the long run than a cheaper car that needs a lot of attention.
It also comes loaded with plenty of options for the era, including power steering, power brakes, tilt-tele steering wheel, and even the storage bags for the T-Tops.
The L48 350 V8 engine and Turbo-Hydromatic automatic transmission won’t win any awards for performance in 2024 but with a little attention at the aftermarket shop, the 180 horses could be coaxed to trot a bit faster.
But the icing on the cake – at least for someone who can’t seem to part with his old high-school tapes – is the working 8-track player that’s part of the AM/FM stereo radio in the center console.
The seller, who’s got a clear title for the car, says that it has no leaks and all the gauges work (except for the clock). He also has the original owner’s manual plus all documentation since new, so we’re assuming he can readily prove the low odometer reading is correct.
He calls his vintage C3 a “beautiful 47-year-old classic in outstanding condition” that still “drives as good as it looks.”
Based on the photos with the listing, we would tend to agree with that assessment and especially love the red leather interior that looks like new.
And just in case you didn’t hold onto your old 8-track tapes like we did, the deal also includes three old tapes that are being stored in one of the rear luggage compartments.

Amazing that the 8-track still works after all these years but I’m sure it couldn’t possibly sound good.
I was a wholesaler in the 70’s, early 80’s. I made my living buying and selling used cars. Judging from the misaligned numbers on the speedo, this nice old car has been backed up. This model takes about 15 minutes to change. I’d want to inspect carefully before buying. Just my opinion.
