Corvettes for Sale: 42-Years-Owned 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible on BaT

It’s not always possible to track down the ownership history of classic Corvettes.

No such problem with this Sunfire Yellow 1966 Corvette convertible, however.

Before being offered on Bring a Trailer by our friends at Corvette Mike, this Sting Ray was enjoyed by the same owner for the past 42 years.

Originally sold by Fletcher’s Chevrolet in Encino, California, the car was purchased in 1982 and remained in that state in the capable hands of that same owner for the next several decades.

In 1995, it even won an NCRS Chevrolet Bowtie Preservation Excellence Award and appears to have been well maintained in the nearly 30 years since.

That doesn’t mean this vintage Sting Ray is a trailer queen, however, as it does have various minor paint chips scattered over the body, most notably on the panels underneath the front bumpers.

The 327/300 V8 engine is connected to a four-speed manual transmission, and other options shown on the $5,425.25 window sticker include air conditioning, power windows, and AM/FM radio. Not on that sticker but nonetheless visible on the car are power steering and what looks to be a teakwood steering wheel, perhaps added later to improve

The black interior isn’t perfect but remains in very good condition for a car that has been driven just over 80,000 miles.

With four days left in the auction, the high bid has climbed to $42,500. How high would you go?
