In this day and age, many of us seem to be spoiled with all the conveniences of modern living.

It wasn’t necessarily that way 55 years ago when this 1969 Corvette T-top coupe was built, but fortunately for the current generation of enthusiasts, the original owner was forward-thinking and didn’t mind checking the option box multiple times when placing his order.

That means this car, currently being offered on eBay through late Tuesday, comes fully equipped with a host of power options (steering, disc brakes, windows) as well as tilt-telescopic steering column, AM/FM radio (now replaced with a modern retro-style unit) and factory air that still works great.

That means it should make a great driver-quality car that still shows well with an older repaint in Monaco Orange even though the seller candidly admits it does have some flaws from being driven over the years and the hood is off color a shade but overall the exterior still “presents well.” And in case you don’t care for the black accents on the hood, don’t fret – it’s just a decal and can be removed, he adds.

The “completely restored” black interior (with “complete Painless wiring) may be another point of personal taste as the seat covers have been updated with orange piping. Seeing it in person might change a skeptic’s mind, though, especially since the interior overall shows very well, at least in photos.

Underneath, those listing photos also show the birdcage and frame to be in excellent condition, and the seller says all the components like shocks, universal joints, brakes, trailing arms, and drive shafts have been replaced or rebuilt.

Ditto for all the vacuum components that have been updated so the wipers and headlights now work properly (though that might not be saying a whole lot based on other classic cars I’ve owned over the years with their pathetic factory wipers and headlights).

Now for the bad news, at least for the purists out there. The original drivetrain is missing, but the good news is that the car now sports a powerful (and correct date-coded for 1969 V8 427/390 engine that produces 460 ft-lb of torque. Coupled with the four-speed manual transmission and Hooker side pipe headers also in place, this car should be tons of fun to drive. And with a nice dose of chrome under the hood, a feast for the eyes, too, when the hood is raised.

“This car is mechanically sound,” the seller claims. “You (can) drive it anywhere all day long (with) no issue.”

Even though this vintage C3 has 91,000 miles showing on the odometer, it still runs and drives like a new car, he says.

Apparently, a lot of other enthusiasts agree with that assessment, with 32 bids placed so far to a high of $25,600, with the auction slated to close Tuesday evening.
