Okay, Z06 fans! Stop whatever you are doing right now and give this video of a Corvette Z06 running a hot lap on the Nurburgring. The video comes from Misha Charoudin, a YouTuber with 1.3M subscribers and he apparently is a pretty good driver who knows his way around 12.9 mile track. Misha ran two laps on the Nurburgring in the C8Z and he offers up some great commentary about the car and how it was to drive.
This was his first time behind the wheel of the Corvette, and he gives a bunch a reasons why running a timed lap wasn’t really possible. However, Misha claims to be a “car guy” and car guys want to know how it compares to others. Looking at the timeline in his video, he calculates that he ran about 7:20 lap from Bridge to Gantry even with the large amount of traffic on the track. He shows examples of where he was slowed down because of other cars, and sometimes there were multiple cars he had to work around.
At the beginning of the video, he breaks in from editing and says he had to add a quick segment just to say how impressed he was with the new Corvette Z06. Misha says he’s actually “blown away by what the car is capable of, and that “it didn’t feel fast at all to me because it was so easy to drive.” He adds “So, without the traffic, me knowing the car maybe a bit better would have been an easy sub-seven.” Again, he says that’s the “Bridge to Gantry” time and not the regular timed lap which is longer. However, he says that with the professional or development driver that really knows the car and with a better set up (more camber, better seats), it is easily a sub-seven car and it’s in “Porsche 992 GT3 territory.”
“GM you have done a fantastic job,” he says and then proclaims “My God, what a car!”
Misha shared some of the gauges in his POV video, so keep an eye on his fuel gauge. He starts his first lap with the fuel level halfway been a quarter and half a tank, and by the end of his second hot lap, he’s in the red with the fuel warning light coming on.

Was the vid…. in slow motion….
I want a job where I can drive other peoples amazing cars around a race track for fun. I am definitely in the wrong business…
Misha is a pretty good driver, but he NEEDS a helmet for this type of work.
A real lap time requires a closed track with Lars Kern driving, and that’s probably on the schedule.
What a great video! Normally don’t take that kind of time to watch a full video, but this one’s certainly worth it. As a Corvette owner and track day veteran, Misha is a really talented driver and definitely NOT afraid of pedestrian type traffic getting in the way. Awesome car and VERY entertaining trip on the RING!! Thanks for posting.
Misha Charoudin is a professional racer. He currently races in the 24h of Nürburgring series.
He knows what he is doing.
Hey there, if I lived close by, I would join Misha every Saturday morning to do laps around the Ring, just like he did but hopefully with no sedans and minivans getting in the center of the lanes. The Pucker Up Factor must be huge for those 7 to 8 minutes per lap.
The Corvette Z06 is truly the best sports car on our Planet, did anybody notice Oil Temp stayed at 217.4 degrees Fahrenheit thru the entire lap, my 2008 Coupe hits 220F easy in 3rd gear just getting on the freeway. The BEST engineering ever in a Corvette with the flat plane crank concept in that engine.
Thanks a million to Misha for the efforts in that great video.
Please get rid of the families taking a tour on your next lap out.
It’s a street car dude! Probably the fastest car there.
Hey JT, you may want to check out your system. My 11′ GS manual NEVER gets over 220 or so even with the A/C on in 90 degree weather. For that matter I had an 08′ 2LT and it never got hot.
