[VIDEO] 2023 Corvette Z06 Sets Fastest Time at Virginia International Raceway

YouTuber SteelAnkles is back with another on-track video featuring his friend Marko and his 2023 Corvette Z06. Marko is using the Corvette as the track weapon it was designed to be, and his Z06 sliced and diced the track and finished with a time of 1:58.92.

It’s not mentioned, but based on the time, we think the track is set up in the 3.3 mile configuration, and not the full grand course which Car & Driver uses for their lightning laps. Maybe someone will comment to confirm.

Marko’s hot lap was captured by the Corvette’s Performance Data Recorder, and SteelAnkles says the 1:58.92 lap is now the fastest recorded lap for the C8Z at VIR. We saw speeds at high as 166 mph so make sure you check it out below:

  1. The Z06 is faster because it isn’t operating inside organized racing build restrictions that restrict performance to GT3 or GT Leman technical limits that have attracted so many manufactures to meet the spec and go racing!

  2. And just to think…. our Corvette club is considering canceling all future track events…. So sad….

    This car is simply superb!

  4. Good lap. But not the fastest. Go to YouTube. Sean Reiche did a 1:56 in his C7 Z06, and at here is another faster lap by a. C7 ZR1 at 1:55. Viper ACRs have some killer laps as well.
