[POLL] What Do You Think of This Purple Chevrolet Traverse Exterior for the C8 Corvette

Okay, Chevrolet. I am not sure how I missed this news about you having a purple exterior color in play, but I can thank GM Authority for sharing this photo of a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse in Stardust Metallic.

As an original fan of both the C4/C7’s Black Rose Metallic and the C5’s Medium Purple Pearl Metallic, I’ve been hoping to see a similar color offered on the new C8 Corvette. Purple was also explored as a possible exterior by Alex who was looking at the shades of purple offered on competing exotics. But look no more, as Chevrolet is painting other vehicles in this new shade. Will it make it to the Corvettes in 2025?

It’s actually not surprising that I haven’t seen this shade before. On the 2024 Traverse Build & Price configurator, you have to go to the top RS AWD trim level to even see Stardust Metallic as an offering. And on the configurator, it looks to be more burgundy than purple. The color also appears to be offered on the 2024 Blazer EV where it’s given the horrible name of Galaxy Gray Metallic. On the configurator, it appears to be more of a battleship color than an exotic purple that it is, although the color is represented better in the official media photos as seen below. Come, on Chevy! You really need to work on representing your exterior colors better on the configurators…

We are currently getting into the 2025 model year’s “silly season” where speculation runs rampant when it comes to which new colors Chevrolet will offer on Corvette. We’ve heard rumors that Accelerate Yellow may change. Ceramic Matrix Gray has been around since the 2018s. And do we really need two shades of Black? The Carbon Flash Metallic was a carryover from the 70th Anniversary models despite the fact that it was outsold 2 to 1 against the White Pearl Metallic which Chevy retired once the 2023s were completed.

So Corvette Nation. Once again, the paint brush is in your hands, and we know that Corvette’s paint peeps are readers of the blog. Would you like to see this Stardust Metallic from the Traverse on the 2025 Corvettes? Vote below and let your voice be heard!

  1. Not sure if it’s still the same, but back in the 90s I was working for a truck converter/bailment company selling custom conversion pickups and suvs to Chevrolet and GMC dealers and one of my dealers mentioned to me a GM fleet option code that any factory order of 10 or more minimum could be ordered in any GM paint code. I convinced my bosses to let me place some orders and they did. I sold hundreds of new pickups in the current various car colors that weren’t the standard truck colors. My dealers loved them as they were attention grabbing vehicles that they couldn’t get enough of them as they flew off their lots. Not sure if it’s still a GM fleet option.

  2. Why doesn’t GM offer this color on all their models? I think this color looks even better than what Dodge offers. That’s Plum Crazy! I would love to see that color on a CT-5 Blackwing! With the black wheels and window tint I think it would look very cool!

  3. Too pale. A BOLD purple would work, but this belongs in the trash, along with the current pale green.

  4. The pic of the purple C8 that you’ve added since sometime yesterday looks much better. I could go for that!

  5. I agree with bob. The SUV color is too pale. The C8 photoshop is still a bit light for my taste. C8 really needs a LOUD, VIVID and BOLD purple color. Radar Blue comes to mind, as does TVR purple, Lotus purple, Plum Crazy, etc.
