A stolen Torch Red C7 Corvette Z06 has been recovered – no worse for the wear – and two men have been arrested with a third still being sought as a result of a multi-state investigation this month, authorities said.

The joint effort by the Adams County (Mississippi) Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group and the Vidalia (Louisiana) Police Department culminated last week with the two arrests and the recovery of two stolen vehicles, including the 2017 Z06.

The investigation began Jan. 17 when the Vidalia Police Department arrested Sanchez Gray for possession of a stolen vehicle after a traffic stop.

The ACSO Special Operations Group then obtained a search warrant for Gray’s residence at 526 Park Place in Natchez, Mississippi, where a small amount of marijuana and $5,348 in cash were found. Agents also executed a search warrant on a 2017 Corvette Z06 parked in a field on Old Meadville Road and discovered the car had been stolen in Grapevine, Texas. Inside the car, they found 270 grams of cocaine, a pound-plus of marijuana, and miscellaneous paperwork.

On Friday, Jan. 26, ACSO agents charged Jersha Brown, 24, and Gray, 32, both of 526 Park Place, Natchez with aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance to wit cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a stolen vehicle, and tampering with evidence.

A third man, Dionntae Dishta, 24, of 355 Green Acres Road, Ferriday, Louisiana, is on parole in Louisiana and is now being sought by authorities in connection with this incident. According to Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten, Dishta’s name has been entered into the National Crime Information Center, a computerized index designed for rapid exchange of information between criminal justice agencies.

“These arrests were possible because of the relationship that we have with surrounding agencies and the support from local businesses, which enabled us to recover this vehicle without any damage to it,” Patten said.
