Legendary Corvette restomod builder Jeff Hayes keeps breaking records with his creations and his latest build featuring a 1967 Corvette Convertible had people buzzing after it hammered sold at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on Saturday for $1 million, a new record price for a custom ’67 Corvette! When it was all said-and-done with the auction house commission added, the out-the-door price would be an amazing $1.1 million.

It’s been remarkable watching how Jeff Hayes and his custom Corvettes have been embraced by the collecting community. Where just a few years ago, his creations were selling for $200K to $300K easy, we’ve seen his builds in the last few years climb into the $700,000s. His last two years at Barrett-Jackson saw him sell a Silver Blue 1967 Convertible with Cream interior for $715K in 2022, and then last year a Dirty Martini Green ’67 with a Buttercream interior sold for a record $770,000.

This latest build by Jeff features a 1967 Convertible with a unique Champagne exterior while the Linen interior is one of the most beautiful restomod interiors we’ve ever seen. We love the Linen carbon fiber weave on the gauge cluster, glove box door, and the shifter console. The leather seats are beautifully upholstered, and the carpet has us wondering if Hayes has a secret line to the famous “Damsels of Design” who worked under GM Design Chief Harley J. Earl back in the day.

The restomod is powered by an LS3 V8 making around 540 horsepower and its mated to a 4L70E automatic transmission. It rides on an Art Morrison Sport chassis and features Wilwood disc brakes. One of the striking design features are the wheels. These are custom-designed Schott wheels wrapped in a custom white line tires. We also appreciate some of the creature comforts added. You’ll find a Vintage Air climate system, AM/FM Bluetooth stereo, power steering and power windows, and a power hood which is a requirement for any serious restomod build.

We’ve been hoping that Barrett-Jackson would upload a video of the sale to their YouTube channel, but so far we haven’t seen it yet. While we wait for that, here are a few photos showing the 1967 Corvette restomod on the auction block at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2024.

  1. Ya I saw that car sell, I still don’t understand why anyone on purpose would sell or buy anything from these crooks or Mecum for that matter. Buy a car for 100k and then have to pay an extra 10k just for the privilege of telling your buddies that you’re a friggen moron and payed more then the price it sold at. Buying or selling an extra 10%, really stupid. Each car gets hit twice. I like to see the cars, the commentators make it hard to watch these days. They say stupid shit and are wrong a lot, Hoovie is a rich kid douche bag and can’t stand that idiot including his show with his dumb ass mechanic. Steve what’s his face can stay on leave, talks to much about crap nobody cares about, and always has to touch other people’s stuff. Him and his dumb ass magnets can stay home.

  2. I like Restomods but this is the most NON sportscar looking Corvette I have ever seen. Beige? Wire looking wheels? Whitewall tires? White interior? I just don’t see high performance sportscar. I only see pimpmobile. At least the new owner will never have to wash it since it’s beige. Maybe another million dollars would make it look like a Corvette again instead of a Chrysler Cordoba.

  3. It’s just a car not a piece of art. To me it’s no different than the artist Wyland painting whales on the side of buildings.

  4. Lot of nasty comments. No reason for it. If you don’t like the program change the channel. If I had the spare change I would have bought two them.
