The Corvette Assembly Plant appears to be ramping up in more ways than just the new E-Rays being built. This week, workers at the Bowling Green facility are doing 10-hour shifts, and we’ve confirmed that there will be one shift run on this Saturday as well.

With the extra couple of hours on Tuesday, we were thinking that assembly line workers may have set a new one-day record for Corvette production. Roger Keil’s unofficial production tracker is showing that a total of 222 new Corvettes rolled off the assembly line yesterday. The amounts per model were:

• 165 Stingrays
• 51 Z06s
• 6 E-Rays

It’s pretty rare that we’ve seen more than 200 cars produced in a single day, however, looking back through Roger’s archives, I believe the previous high happened on September 25, 2023 with 225 new C8 Corvette Stingrays assembled. This number was achieved just after the 2024 model year started, but before the start of ’24 Z06 production which was pushed back to October 3rd.

We know those 6 E-Rays may look like a small number, but we are definitely seeing signs of a ramp up. The week of January 8th there were 7 E-Rays completed. The following week that number jumped to 15. Already this week we are at 14 E-Rays completed and if the trend continues, we should hopefully see around 21-24 total units completed for the week by Friday.

Stay tuned tomorrow as we should have a complete round-up of the latest constraints for January’s order cycle which opens Thursday and runs through Tuesday.

  1. E Ray ?….nobody wants that crap, please don’t do it. A Vette is not a Vette , without the rumble and sound of a gas powered engine. That’s what completes the package.

  2. The stingrays are saturated! How about building more Z06s! Customers don’t want the Eray. Customers are frustrated of the lack of Z06 production

  3. E-ray has a 495hp gas engine. The electric motor has 160hp and a battery that can’t be plugged in. This is not an electric commuter car, it still has a rumble. It is a beast

  4. One day…..BFD. Dealers are still charging adm’s. Nothing in showrooms. GM cant make cars anymore.
