What do call the first three E-Rays to be completed by the Corvette Assembly Plant this week? A great start!

The daily Corvette production tracker offered by Roger Kiel on Facebook shows three E-Rays were completed during the week, marking the Start of Regular Production (SORB) for the new performance hybrid sports car.

We have a real good idea the first E-Ray will be Black, as that’s the preferred color for Mr. Hendrick who purchased won the rights to purchase VIN 001 during the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction back in April. The NASCAR team owner and Chevy dealer paid $1.15 million for VIN 001 with the proceeds going to the “DonorsChoose” charity.

Speculation has been rampent with the E-Ray’s start of production and we’re wondering if those first three cars were completed just so Chevy can say production started in 2023, or will we now start to see a E-Rays on the assembly line regularly? That’s the fun of watching these daily production counts.

And since we’re talking about VIN counts, the Corvette Stingray is showing 7,663 produced while the Corvette Z06 has already reached 2,593. With the three E-Rays counted, that’s a total of 10,259 Corvettes completed so far for the 2024 model year.

We also see that over the last two weeks that the total number of cars produced at the plant has been outstanding. On Wednesday which was when the E-Rays were completed, a total of 195 Corvettes were produced. A couple weeks back on December 5th, the tracker shows 214 Corvettes produced with 69 of those being Z06s.
