Sailor Re-Enlists in the Navy While Sitting Inside a Running Chevy Corvette Convertible

Saturday is Veterans Day where we honor the military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. We celebrate those who have served our great nation, and we thank all veterans and their families for their service.

Our armed forces are comprised of men and woman who freely choose to serve and because of all the specialized training they receive, service members can receive a nice bonus for re-enlisting once their term is up.

One of the traditions we didn’t know about before today is that some service members like to take their re-enlistment oath in a memorable location. An article on Military Times caught our attention today as it shares a young sailor taking his oath of service inside an automotive dealership while sitting in a running C8 Corvette Stingray Convertible.

The sailor’s name wasn’t listed in this Reddit post, but we salute him for his outstanding taste in cars! I mean, just check out the face he makes once the oath is completed! You can watch the video of this sailor taking the oath on Reddit:

The comments in the thread are pretty funny and interesting as well, with some other veterans sharing stories of interesting re-enlistment locations. A couple of comments refer to the sailor as a “Nuke” which we believe are those who work in the engine rooms and propulsion systems of nuclear submarines.

Congratulations again to this young navy sailor and thanks again for your service!

  1. How interesting that for the swearing-in a Corvette was chosen, perhaps unintentionally, by the sailor in this article. A corvette is a relatively small naval ship classification, just below in size to a destroyer.
