Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

Thanks for joining us on this Sunday and we’ve got a great Delivery Dispatch lined up for you. This week we are chock-full of sharing new deliveries, and Mike says during one of them that he had something happen that has never happened before in his 46 years of selling America’s Favorite Sports Car. ~ Johnny Unitas of the NFL’s Baltimore Colts sits behind the wheel of his new fire-engine red Corvette in New York City, Dec. 31, 1958. The car was presented by Sport Magazine in recognition of Unitas’ outstanding performance in the title playoff game.

~Flashback to Corvettes at Carlisle Event August 2005. I’ve attended Every Corvette Event in Carlisle since the very first one in 1982 and started attending the Spring/ Fall Events in 1978. 1st picture is Dave Hill and I ( Dave Hill is a former automotive engineer for General Motors. He is best known as the Chief Engineer for the 5th (C5) and 6th (C6) generations of the Chevrolet Corvette). The other two pics are of my good friend from New Jersey, Paul drove his 1963 Corvette Split Window to the event. I owned a 2005 Precision Red Corvette coupe and was about to trade it in on a new 2006 Lemans Blue Corvette Z06.

~ C8 Corvette deliveries for the week!

~Craig E. of Rollins, Montana factory ordered from me a Red Mist metallic 2023 Corvette Z06 coupe and took delivery at the Corvette Museum in Kentucky on Friday. 3LZ pkg and loaded, they had a blast as the Museum staff rolled out the Red carpet.

The photos are now supplied to me by Fotofx, a company that has been working within the Museum for the past 10+ years and now they have pkgs available for a truly special experience to be captured digitally. I recommend their process the next time you take delivery at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY!

He has bought several Corvettes from me over the past decade, most notably was his 2019 ZR1 and 2020 Z51. He enjoyed both but today was the day he was really looking forward to as he took delivery of his Black 2023 Corvette Z06/Z07 coupe. Mike called me on his way to work 30 minutes after he took delivery and he said he is literally taking the longest way possible to his destination as he yelled with joy at how much he is impressed by his new Z06!

Wow traded in my Z51 C8 Corvette on a new Z06 C8. Thank you Mike Furman and Criswell Chevrolet Buick GMC Gaithersburg MD. Delivery experience started with lighting up the Z06 I was so blown away overwhelmed I wanted to turn around and hug Mike Furman. The most visceral extremely amazing car ever. Stay tuned DSC Sport lovers it gets better stay tuned.

~Mike F. Of Vero Beach, Florida factory ordered from me his new Torch Red 2024 Corvette Convt with Adrenaline Red interior…which matches his Red/Red 1965 Corvette and his Red/Red 2019 Corvette! Last year I advised him of Wheel Craft in Ohio and he spoke with Ed the owner and had his wheels chromed and installed before taking delivery today.

~Marie S. and Peter D. Of Melbourne, Florida placed their order for a Silver Flare 2024 Corvette Convertible with Adrenaline Red dipped interior. We completed the paperwork via Fed Ex and today Plycar trucking loaded it up for the enclosed trailer ride to their Florida home. It’s a beauty.

The paperwork/payment process was completed via Fed ex and Plycar trucking had a truck ready to load up this am so I met the driver on my day off at 8am this morning so he could get it up to my customer in Long Island.

~Julian S. of Chesapeake, Virginia factory ordered from me before in the C7 era but today was his turn for a C8 Z06! Julian spec’d out his Carbon Flash black metallic 2024 Corvette Z06 coupe with Black Competition seats. I had him in and out quickly for the nearly 5 hour ride home.

~Dan W. of Mahwah, New Jersey factory ordered from me his new Torch Red 2024 Corvette Convertible and he had his Father drive him down today to take delivery. I met them in the parking lot and two things occurred. The first is I made a connection with his Father as I told him I grew up in Montvale, NJ just across the State border from where he lived in White Plains, NY. He asked if I knew of a Dr Richard Russo? I said yes, he was my 6th grade Science teacher! Lewis (Dan’s Father ) said Richard was his brother in law! Now I hadn’t seen Dr Russo since 6th grade as he was my Science teacher (1971)! The 2nd amazing thing happened that has never happened in my 46 years of selling Corvettes…Dan asked if I had a new Corvette for sale that he could buy his Father? I had one that a customer couldn’t take delivery that just arrived Thursday so Dan bought it for his Father(who had owned a 1967 and a 1990 Corvette) and they drove home two Torch Red 2024 Corvettes! Dan got the Convertible and bought his Father a Coupe! What a great family day for these two fine gentleman. I enjoyed every moment of the double delivery process for these two Torch Red 2024 Corvettes!

  1. My favorite is the picture of the two C6 Indy Pace Cars and 96 Grand Sport in some lucky owner’s garage.

  3. Mr. Furman, three more things strike me about the story of Dan W. and his dad. First is that it has never happened before in all the years and number of Corvettes you have sold. Second is that you had just received a Corvette where a customer could not take delivery. Third is that it was also torch red. They ended up with “almost” matching Corvettes on a whim.
