To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Chevrolet, the company introduced the 2012 Centennial Edition, available across the entire lineup of Corvettes.
One such example is this immaculate Z06 that’s being offered on Cars & Bids, where the high bid has climbed to $30,000 with six days left in the auction.
In all, 2,201 of these Centennial Editions – which added $4,950 to the MSRP – were produced in six versions, but only 195 of them were Z06s.
All the cars featured a special one-year black Carbon Flash metallic exterior with satin black graphics, red brake calipers, and unique Centennial satin black wheels outlined with a red stripe. A special 100-Years graphic showing co-founder Louis Chevrolet behind the steering wheel of his race car, complete with leather helmet and goggles, was displayed on the B-pillars, center wheel caps, and the center of the steering wheel.
Inside, an ebony leather-wrapped dash and doors with complementary red stitching enhanced the look, with suede accents found on the seats, steering wheel, shifter, and armrests. The seats were embossed with a checkered flag design and the “100” found on the lower right side of the headrests.
This example, owned by the seller since 2015, has been driven only 17,400 miles and remains in “impeccable” condition, he says in a walk-around video of the car.
Fortunately for the buyer, the car is completed wrapped with 3M paint protection film from head to toe, including the headlights, and the seller says there’s not a rock chip to be found anywhere on the body.
As with all Z06 models, this one includes the LS7 427/505 horsepower V8 engine connected to a six-speed manual transmission. It also has the $8,815 3LZ Premium Equipment Group (Memory Package, power-adjustable sport bucket seats, luggage shade and parcel net, custom leather-wrapped interior package, heated front seats, tilt and telescopic steering column, DVD navigation system with AM/FM radio and CD player, Bose premium sound system, universal home remote, Bluetooth phone interface) and the $3,995 Z06 Carbon Fiber Package.
It does NOT have the Z07 Ultimate Performance Package, however.
Alas, the car isn’t perfect, with a scuff on the passenger’s side rear wheel and creases on the outer seat bolsters listed as known flaws by the seller. That’s being pretty picky, though.
Recent services include changing the oil and filter in 2019 and 2022 and replacing the rear tires in 2021. The rear hatch recall was completed in 2019, and the seller says he had an Indiana dealer check the head/valve issue that plagues some Z06s but “they did not find anything.”
