If you’re looking for a nice vintage C2 Corvette but don’t necessarily want to put in the time and money to achieve the “wow” factor, you might want to consider this 1966 Sting Ray currently being offered on eBay in the Watervliet, New York area.
With the auction slated to come to an end on Saturday night, the high bid for this “true turn-key classic” has reached $51,700, still shy of the reserve.
Once he left the immaculate garage where the car is stored, the seller says he drove it to and from 2023 Corvettes at Carlisle – with “no issues!” – and even picked up a couple of awards while there.
The Laguna Blue paint is rated as a “true 98 out of 100” by the owner, who adds that the chrome is “like new” as well. Underneath, the frame and birdcage are rated “outstanding.”
The car is rolling on four new tires, with a new Western K/O included as a spare, and also has a new gas tank, mufflers, power antenna, and power steering valve.
The original 327/300 horsepower engine is said to have been professionally rebuilt “a few thousand miles ago,” and it’s connected to the numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission.
The interior looks extra nice, too, with the leather seats described as “like new.” All the gauges work, even the often temperamental clock.
In short, this Sting Ray “needs absolutely nothing,” in the words of the owner. Would you like to see it in your own garage?
