A 20-year-old employee of a Volkswagen dealership in Orange County, Florida died during a test drive of a red 2013 Corvette on Tuesday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the crash happened around 10:30 a.m. just south of Orlando when the Corvette, going eastbound above the posted speed limit on Sand Lake Road, crashed into a westbound 2023 Honda Accord making a left turn onto Beacon Lake Drive.

After impact, the Corvette then left the roadway and wound up on its side amidst brush after overturning in a ditch, suffering severe damage to the front end of the car and leaving its engine in the middle of the multi-lane road.

A passenger in the Corvette, a 22-year-old Orlando man and also an employee of the Volkswagen dealership, suffered minor injuries. The 21-year-old driver of the Accord escaped without injuries.
