[VIDEO] Two C8 Corvette Stingrays Bully a Tesla Model S at the Drag Strip

Let’s not be so fast to throw out those internal combustion engines just yet.

Case in point: A couple of mid-engine, “old-fashioned” ICE Corvette Stingrays recently made mincemeat out of a Tesla Model S during skirmishes at Mission Raceway Park in Mission, British Columbia, Canada.

First, a black C8 manages a win over the Tesla, apparently not a 1,020 horsepower Plaid version, by a margin of 11.72 seconds at 116.04 mph for the Corvette to 11.87 at 108.77 mph for the “Musk-Mobile.”

The next matchup features a custom gray Stingray with flashy red wheels that gets a tremendous jump over the Tesla, which had an unexplained delay from the start line and winds up being blown away, times not shown in the video posted on the Wheels channel on YouTube.

In a more traditional matchup that day, that same Corvette manages an impressive victory over a foe from an older generation, a blue Pontiac Trans Am that goes down by a 2.6 second margin – 11.80 seconds at 113.67 mph to 14.40 seconds at 97.15 mph.
