Corvettes for Sale: Milano Maroon 1965 Corvette to be Sold Today on BaT

This 1965 Corvette convertible underwent an extensive restoration 15 years ago, then had nearly $9,000 worth of repairs last year.

Now this Milano Maroon beauty is up for sale on Bring a Trailer, where the high bid has reached $58,000 with just hours left in the auction.

After originally being sold in March 1965 by Loehman Chevrolet in Connecticut, this vintage Sting Ray was subsequently refreshed in 2008, when a new paint job was applied, a replacement black convertible top was installed, and the iconic split bumpers were rechromed. The owner also brightened up the interior with new black seat covers, door panels, and carpet installed.

Last year, another owner had the car repaired at Corvette Care in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the carburetor was rebuilt, the ignition system refurbished, the valves adjusted, the timing chain repaired, and the transmission resealed.

Potential owners will be pleased to hear that the numbers-matching L76 327/365 horsepower V8 engine remains under the hood, with a four-speed manual transmission and optional Positraction differential in place as well.

This car – which listed for $5,184.65 after adding equipment like leather trim, AM/FM radio, 775×14 whitewalls, Positraction, four-speed manual transmission, hardtop, and undercoating – is one of the 15,378 convertibles built during 1965, in addition to another 8,186 coupes for a total production run of 23,564.
