Corvettes for Sale: 781-Mile 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible at an Oklahoma CarMax

Back in 2013, Chevy decided to celebrate the Corvette’s 60th anniversary and the end of the sixth generation with a big party.

Not with balloons and confetti, but with a couple of special edition Corvettes. The first was the Z25 60th Anniversary Design Package in Arctic White over Blue Diamond leather.

The other was the 427 Convertible Collector Edition that morphed the Z06 and its 505-horsepower LS7 dry-sump 427 engine with the widebody of a steel-framed convertible. The result was what Chevy at the time called “the fastest, most capable convertible in Corvette’s history.”

Right now, the most unlikely of places – a Carmax store in Tulsa, Oklahoma – has one of the lowest-mileage such Collector Editions that you may be able to find. One of only 94 such convertibles to be coated in Velocity Yellow, this car has been driven only 781 miles over the past decade!

It features the mandatory six-speed manual transmission, along with Magnetic Ride Control,

427 hood badging, ZR1-style rear spoiler, and carbon fiber hood, fenders, and floor panels.

Only 2,552 of these 427 Convertibles were produced by the good folks at the Bowling Green plant, with a base price of $76,900 on the sticker. (Interestingly, the popularity of the ragtop was never more evident than in 2013, when only 471 of the fixed-roof Z06 coupes offering similar performance were sold.)

By the way, even after 10 years on the road (though barely, we’ll admit), the price for this one at Carmax is still a whopping $69,998.

Is it just me, or is anybody else out there shocked at the prices of used C6s and C7s these days? They’re great-looking and great-performing cars, for sure, but wow, a used C6 is more expensive than a base C8 – a decade later? That’s not very much depreciation, huh?
