General Motors may be lighting the way with its eighth-generation Corvette, but apparently not quite up to the standards of Australia.

GM Australia recently announced that 109 Corvettes produced during 2022 are being recalled because of a software issue that causes the lighting not to be compliant with an Australian Design Rule.

“Due to a software issue, when the master light switch is set to automatic light control, the headlights, tail lamps, park lamps and license plate lamps will be turned ON and the day time running lamps will be turned OFF,” GM Australia said in its recall notice issued Oct. 6.

“The vehicles are not compliant with the Australian Design Rule (ADR13/00)-Installation of Lighting.”

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by General Motors Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd and requested to contact their local dealer to have the Body Control Module (BCM) updated free of charge.

Owners can also contact GMSV Customer Care at 1 800 004 678 or by e-mail at [email protected].

The VIN list is attached here.
