Australia and New Zealand Customers Take First Deliveries of the new C8 Corvette Stingray

Happy – and very patient – customers in Australia and New Zealand finally started taking delivery last week of the first right-hand-drive Corvettes in the two countries.

General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) – which handles sales of the mid-engine Corvettes there – posted on social media on Jan. 22 that the first C8s have been delivered to dealers and even shared a photo of one new owner behind the wheel. “We love to see our customers’ smiling faces when receiving their keys,” they posted.

One of the dealers, Ferntree Gully GMSV in Victoria, shared more photos of the Red Mist Tintcoat Corvette – with Dipped Natural interior – on its Facebook page last week, with a lucky fellow named Paul and his daughter Alana, shown inside their new car.

The dealership commented: “Vroom, Vroom, VROOM. Take a look at Paul and his daughter Alana picking up their delivery of our very first C8 Corvette. We can’t wait to hear that engine roar. Enjoy the new wheels and thank you for choosing Ferntree Gully GMSV for your Corvette purchase. Also pictured from the Ferntree Gully GMSV team, Wayne, Mark and Robert. If you’re interested in any of our range, have a chat with one of our GMSV specialists today. (03) 9758 0000.”

GMSV also posted two other photos of Corvettes coated with Arctic White and Accelerate Yellow paint, though the specific dealerships where they were headed were not mentioned by name.

The new owners paid a handsome price for the cars compared to their American counterparts, with the coupe starting at $160,500 AUD in Australia and $169,990 NZD in New Zealand and the convertible adding a $15,000 premium to those prices.

GMSV earlier confirmed that the 2023 Z06 will be available in the two countries as well.
