To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Corvette, Chevy came up with a special RPOZ25 package that was available across the entire model line, including the ZR1.

The package included a Ruby Red Metallic exterior, Ruby Red leather sport seats with special “40th” anniversary embroidery, power driver seat, special wheel center trim, and emblems.

In all, 6,749 customers chose the celebratory package that added just $1,455 to the cost of the car, including this very nice example currently available on Craigslist out of the Mesa, Arizona area for $26,900.

This anniversary base convertible – one of just 2,043 ragtops – has apparently been pampered since new, being driven just 4,100 miles over the past 30 years.

Adding to the allure of this particular car is its six-speed manual transmission, chosen as a no-cost option on only 5,330 of the overall 21,590 Corvettes built in Bowling Green that year.

That transmission is linked to an LT1 engine that produced 300 horsepower for the second year in a row, but Chevy made some changes that made the ’93 run quieter, including a new heat shield, new thermoset polyester valve covers, and a modified camshaft exhaust lobe profile that reduced the exhaust valve closing velocity.

Also noteworthy from a historical perspective, all ’93 models marked GM’s first use of a passive keyless entry system. This one includes two sets of keys, as well as the original invoice.

The seller says this car is “like new inside and out,” and an extensive set of photos with the listing seems to corroborate that notion as well as his claim that it’s “probably the best one for the money on the market.”

What say you?
