I own a 2017 base model corvette with 8 speed automatic trans that shook like running over rumble strips at 50 to 70 mph at light throttle. At first I thought I had a bad batch of gas as I had just taken the car out of winter storage. I ran the fuel out and refueled with Shell high test. The shake still persisted. After the third refuel with 100+octane(5 gallons)the shake was still happening so I took the car to the GM dealership thinking something with the compute control/timing was screwed up. Turns out it was a problem with the trans fluid absorbing moisture which in turn caused the clutch in the trans to not engage or slip, creating the the “shake”. They flushed the fluid and replaced with new fluid. This corrected the problem. This was a one time free service paid for by GM warranty. I was told that if it occurred again it would not be covered under warranty. This was done in May of 2021. There is a service bulletin on this issue. I haven’t taken the car out of storage yet as of this date 5/2/22 but will in the coming weeks.I’m anxious to see if it happens again, I hope not.
