[ACCIDENT] Police Make Jokes After a 2021 Corvette is Shown Wheels Up in a Cranberry Bog

A recent accident of a 2021 Corvette Stingray in Plymouth, Massachusetts has gotten our attention after being posted to the Plymouth Police Department’s Facebook page. In the post, the department pokes fun at the driver of the car who thankfully was uninjured in the single-car crash.

A photo from the accident shows the car resting on its roof with its wheels up in the air. Cables are seen on the wheels as it appears that emergency workers were on the scene as they attempted to remove the car.

The post alludes to speed being the main factor of the accident but no other details or the location of the crash was made public.

In the Facebook Post, the department suggests that “a beautiful 2021 Corvette should never be used as an instrument to make cranberry sauce,” adding that this Corvette became “the one that you find in a second hand store,” while asking readers to name the song those lyrics are from in the comments.

As to the condition of the driver, the post tells us the “operator walked away with a criminal citation for negligent operation and some cranberry stains on his ‘Member’s Only’ jacket.”

Sheesh! We’re just glad the driver is okay. Here is the full post from the Plymouth Police Department:

  1. A number of years ago sports car Nannie’s didn’t exist, e.g., traction control, etc…. today, it’s considered common place. In order to lose control of a C8, either the road conditions were absolutely deplorable or the driver pushed the car way past it limits. Either way, the driver didn’t kill himself or anyone else for that matter. Learning to know your own driver capabilities, which more often than not fall way short of the car’s can mitigate these events. As fast as these C8s are, it’s easy for drivers to get behind the power curve. In some cases the driver doesn’t even realize that they’re past the point of no return. Same thing can happen with pilots…and it’s fatal. I know I have, but luckily I avoided any serious deals and have learned to be very aware of my own limits when involved in spirited driving. 😉

  2. Why speculate about the drivers limits or the traction control etc.?

Police only say speed was factor. Doesn’t mean the driver was exceeding speed limit or his limits, or car’s limits. Just too fast for conditions or to avoid the accident triggering event that we know nothing about.

It’s hubris and vanity to opine otherwise.

  3. “Cranberry Mist Tintcoat” has a very tasty sound for future Vette colors. Bring back the Kalahari interior and that’d be a nice combo.
