[VIDEO] Modded 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Slays at the Texas Mile

One of our favorite cars of all time made some serious waves at the Texas Mile this week. Even though it’s about to turn 12 (an eternity in car years) and is now a full two generations removed from the showroom, the Z06 Carbon Edition of 2011 is one of those machines that never gets old. When GM reinforced their modern 427-cube marvel with ZR1-spec Ceramic brakes, Mag-Ride, and aerodynamics, they created something truly special, the likes of which we will never see again.

Seven-liter Carbons and their Z07 brethren still represent a high-water mark for American track-goodness, but the car we are featuring today has other intentions. Under its raised CF hood lurks an LME twin-turbo V8 that displaces 400-cubic-inches. This boosted smaller-than-stock mill propelled the ADM Performance build to an insane standing quarter trap speed of 140.3, besting even the 755-horse C7 ZR1 by more than 5 MPH. From there, it leaves the realm of any stock Corvette comparison and enters the rarified air of Bugatti territory.

At the second quarter pole, it is covering 270 feet per second (that’s 184.4 MPH!)! Finally, 37 seconds after the camera started rolling, what we have to believe is the fastest of the 252 Carbon Limited Edition cars ever minted, crosses the 5,280-foot line doing an unbelievable 242.7 MPH! We would love to see/hear more of this animal in action; dyno pulls, on-board footage, the works, but mostly, we are just happy that it is out there carrying on the wicked C6Z legacy.

  1. Would like to see what aero was fabricated to keep this beast on the ground at that speed.
