General Motors Confirms 'Early April for Purchasing' the 2023 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Coupe

There was a new Chevrolet email that was sent out yesterday that included Z06 info. As this one contained more than just pre-launch info for the 2023 Corvette Z06, it appears to be sent to current customers of Chevrolet as I didn’t receive it but our friends at the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com did and they posted it yesterday.

The email specifically states the “All-New 2023 Corvette Z06 Anniversary Z06 Coupe will be available for purchase in early April,” which seems to line up against the dealer timeline of the first 2023 model year ordering cycle that begins Thursday, March 31st and closes on Tuesday, April 5th. However, we’ve never seen the Z06 confirmed as starting immediately on May 9th when 2023 production is expected to start, so we’ll take this as good news despite the line only referencing the “Z06 Coupe” instead of Coupe and Convertible.

Celebrating our 70th Anniversary in Style

Clicking the ‘Learn More’ takes you to media.chevrolet.com for the press release on the first 2023 Corvette Z06 purchased at Barrett-Jackson for $3.6 Million by Chevrolet dealer and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick. Chevrolet’s email also confirms that Mr. Hendrick will be taking the first 2023 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary VIN 001 in Carbon Flash Black.

The email also included this photo and a link to both the 2023 Corvette Z06 Visualizer as well as the full 45-minute reveal video:

Allow our panel of experts, engineers, and designers to take you on a personal tour of the All-New 2023 Corvette Z06. From its earlier inception on the track to its debut on the streets, prepare to be exhilarated by the visionaries who brought it to life. And then experience the excitement of designing your own Corvette Z06.

THE ARTISTRY OF DESIGN IS EXHILARATING

  1. JUST GO AHEAD AND GIVE IT TO RICK HENDRICKS ,,,,,,,,,WHY NOT SELL TICKETS ON IT THAT WAY MAYBE A NORMAL WORKING GUY COULD WIN IT ??? GM….GET READY FOR THOSE PRICE GAUGING DEALERS TO SELL THESE WAY OVER STICKER !!! MORE MONEY THAN BRAIN BUYERS TOO….

  2. How in gods name can GM say a 70th anniversary at will be available when we no price or date on the Z 06 and 10,000 like myself waiting for one. Are they waiting for Joe to get inflation to 20% so get top dollar

  3. ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, LET THE FUN BEGIN!

I WILL GO OUT ON A LIMB AND PREDICT THE 2ND BUILT 2023 CORVETTE Z06 WILL HAVE AN ADDITIONAL WINDOW STICKER THAT STATES – “THIS CORVETTE Z06 HAS A $50,000 ADJUSTED DEALER MARKUP, BECAUSE THIS DEALER IS A GREEDY, OLD BASTARD THAT WILL SELL THIS Z06 TO SOME IDIOT THAT DOESN’T CARE WHAT THE PRICE IS.”

ALL UNSOLD, INVENTORY ON THE LOT, NEW CORVETTE Z06 MODELS WILL BE A MINIMUM OF $50,000 OVER CHEVROLET’S IDEALISTIC (BUT NOT REALISTIC) MSRP ALONG WITH A FEW OF YOU THAT ARE ON A MAGIC LIST TRYING TO BE THE FIRST Z06 DRIVER ON YOUR BLOCK.

IT’S SUCH A DAMN SHAME THAT THE REST OF US HAVE TO WAIT FOR 2 OR 3 MODEL YEARS TO BUY A GREAT CORVETTE WHEN REALITY SETS BACK IN AT THE DEALERS.

THANKS FOR LISTENING – ALL CORVETTES SHOULD BE A Z06! CONVERTIBLES – THAT’S RIGHT.

  4. Meanwhile, thousands are still waiting for their 2022 C8 orders to hit status 3000…

    Unbelievable.

  5. The $3.6M went to charity.

GM is building C8s as fast as they can. They aren’t going to build a second plant.

    Geez….Get off my lawn much?!?!

  6. All orders are pre sold, and have been that way since 2019 ordering. Dealers can’t get one for their own to sell. It would probably be 2 or 3 yrs for customer order demand to catch up before this will happen. It may also take the same for you to get up on the list due to demand. 100,000 people can’t order probably 7,000or 8,000 Z06s out of the first build ’23 year. Your argument is with supply and demand. Now…if a dealer gets their hands on a refused customer delivery, my dealer calls the next person on the waiting list, to see if they would take it. Some dealers might ask way over list for this situation, but that is a capitalist society we live in…you know, that freedom of choice. My dealer knows full well people are flipping these cars for killer profits and gave me their opinion as to why shouldn’t they be any different, which is typically going on in any used one that has 5k mi on it. Drive the crap out of it and collect a $30k profit, because human behavior wants what it wants and impatience prevails. A used car dealer in Houston has been buying these from auction sales or individuals and pays $20k or more over what it cost when they were new, adds $3k or $4k for their profit to the price, and cant keep them in inventory long enough to hardly advertise them, and there you go, capitalist free market wanting society. I have no argument with wealthy people because they keep me employed. Personally, when I make the move and decide to order one, for retail price, there won’t be a mark up because the dealer won’t own my car, I will. There are plenty of dealers that are not pulling an unsold markup, and I happen to know at a Rick Hendrick North Carolina location, they didn’t do that when they offered an unsold 21 to the new owner. How do I know ? I seen the car, price, and talked to the new owner. $64,000 with a couple options.

  7. First of all MacMulkin does MSRP. No I don’t work for them. I have been to the dealership for the Z06 tour. They had 2 C8 Stingrays for sale. Before I left, one was sold. If we didn’t have COVID or a Union strike, we would be looking at spy photos of the ZR1 right now! Every one has a valid point. The dust will settle.
