Check out this unusual multi-faceted drag race known as U-Drags and devised by the folks at
Edmunds.
The concept pits two cars against each other on an airfield, racing to the end where they brake hard, flip around, and come back to the finish line. That way you get a test of a standing quarter-mile, braking, handling, and a rolling start all in one.
A new episode airing on YouTube pairs Edmunds’ own 2020 mid-engine C8 Corvette Stingray against a 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, with the two drivers each getting a chance behind the wheel of each car, hopefully providing unbiased insight into the straight-line and handling performance of each.

The idea is to add some extra spice to the usual drag race.
The rear-wheel drive Caddy, which lists for $98,710, is quite a performer with its 6.2-liter V8 that pumps out 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. Of course, the 2020 Corvette Z51 is no slouch either, offering 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque with its LT2 engine with an MSRP of $80,660. So who will turn out to be the champ in this battle for GM supremacy?
The first run turns out so close that observers with the naked eye can’t discern the winner.
A swap of the drivers, and they try again, with all the marbles in the line and with similar results.

Between a Merc, Bimmer or CT5-V… my fav is clear?. A former famous Racer and Car journalist one said of the latter:”it’s a 4 door vette”
This is a great format, I would love to see what my C7 Z06 and my Cadillac CT-6 V AWD with Blackwing could do. 4-Wheel steering on my CT6-V could come in very handy! Very cool fist match they put on!
