During much of 2021 we watched with glee as the Chevrolet Corvette was one of the fastest-selling vehicles of the year, according to vehicle research firm iSeeCars. America’s Favorite Sports Car made the top 20 list in 10 of 11 surveys posted in 2021, and in six of those 10 months, it was the number 1 fastest-selling vehicle in the USA.

Now, iSeeCars is back with their January 2022 report of the fastest-selling new vehicles, and the Chevrolet Corvette is ranked sixth with the car needing 17.4 days on average to sell. The top vehicle in the survey was the Kia Telluride with 12.8 days to sell.

The survey analyzed over 280,000 new and used cars sold in January 2022. iSeeCars.com found that overall, the average new car takes 36.3 days to sell while the average used car takes 46.2 days to sell.

The other trend that iSeeCars reports on in this survey is the Average Transaction Price. We’ve seen the Corvette’s ATP rise steadily throughout 2021 and that trend is continuing in 2022. In January 2021 the ATP for the Corvette was $84,689 and it grew to $96,685 by November 2021. For January 2022’s ATP, the Corvette’s average transaction price has jumped nearly $2,000 to $98,597!

The Chevrolet Corvette is a mainstay on the fastest-selling list and ranks sixth. “Demand for the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette has exceeded supply since its launch for the 2020 model year, creating a backlog of orders for the 2022 model and long waitlists for the high-performance Z06 version coming in 2023,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “Dealers consistently price the Corvette above MSRP, which has prompted General Motors to threaten to strip dealers of their allocations if they charge above MSRP for the 2023 model.”

Only one other General Motors vehicle made the January 2022 sales list. The GMC Terrain was listed at 16th with an average of 18.7 days to sell.

iSeeCars also analyses the Top 20 Fastest Selling Used Cars and you can see that list at www.iseecars.com.

  1. My guess is that the average transaction price on C8s is up primarily because of dealer markups. The C8 is likely number six on the average days to sell list for the same reason. That ‘ole “… which has prompted General Motors to threaten to strip dealers of their allocations if they charge above MSRP for the 2023 model” thing doesn’t seem to be working. Likely because it isn’t being enforced. Funny how that works.

  2. Seems like most C8s are presales and not sitting on a dealer’s lot. Owners pick them up quick. Should be higher ranked.
