The National Corvette Museum has announced that Chef Bobby Hammock has joined the organization as Consulting Head Chef of the NCM’s in-house Stingray Grill. Hammock will oversee the Stingray Grill’s general restaurant operations and menus, and will also begin internal catering operations for small and medium-sized events at the Museum.

Hammock had recently retired from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum where he served as executive chef for nearly 10 years. He started his culinary career as a line cook at Opryland during college and from there he has worked as a chef at the Four Seasons Dallas and The Grove Park Inn Resort in Asheville, North Carolina. He was also the Executive Chef for Levy Restaurants Bridgestone Arena.

I have had a few months off, and It feels good to get back! I love food, I love to cook, and I love the interaction with the kitchen staff and with the front-of-house staff. Taking care of the customers is exciting, and the Stingray Grill has so much potential,” said Hammock.

Hammock says he enjoys all types of food but really enjoys southern food. He likes to “add a twist” in order to make dishes cross-cultural or to add a personal flair. Hammock joins talented sous-chef, Kenny Jones, in delivering delicious dishes in the Stingray Grill.

The Stingray Grill reopened last year after it was given a modern makeover with the help of Retired Director of Design for the GM Performance Car Studio and 2019 Corvette Hall of Fame inductee, Tom Peters.

Hammock appeared on local TV station WBKO-TV on Tuesday during their Midday Live cooking segment where he demonstrated how to make one of the Stingray Grill’s new special dishes, Blackened Salmon Wrap.
