It’s always a busy week for the nation’s top Corvette seller as we are in the middle of the February order cycle which means those customers selected for an allocation will soon be driving their dream cars. Mike also does courtesy deliveries at participating dealerships and he offers direct shipping to your door! The first question I usually get no matter where I go…"Are you busy?" Candid response is "I’m busier then a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs" For example, I have 44 sold Corvette orders getting built this coming week at Bowling Green. Normal is 8-13 per week so you can imagine what its like when its 3-4 times that amount! The next question is how many assistants do you have? Zero, I do not have assistants. Although I haven’t been on a schedule at work for 10+ years it’s a 24/7/365 job as long as I have a cell phone in my hand. The Corvette world is on fire and has been for a long time as the 8th generation Corvette has delivered in a big way. Back in the 1978-1990 time frame at the Malcolm Konner Corvette shows if I spoke with Zora Duntov about future product he would always say "Rumors sell magazines, not cars." Well today’s world has the internet and you would be shocked at some of the stuff I read and hear from folks…talk about rumor…sometimes it’s so far off base I just shake my head and think back to those weeks that Zora spent as a guest of the Konner family at their families Chevrolet dealership.

~Thomas and Michelle S. of Landenberg, Pennsylvania met me at the Corvettes of Carlisle event two years ago and decided that when the time was right that they would order from me their new C8 Corvette! Today they took ownership of the 6th Corvette that they have owned, a Torch Red 2022 Corvette coupe with black interior and they even gifted me some very nice wine! Two of the nicest folks you’d ever want to meet are happy C8 owners now! “That was on my driveway!”
*Take a look at the picture below of his 1,000 yard driveway that meandered through the woods and over a stone bridge that had a stream underneath…to this day I have no idea how he got to that speed in any type of safe manner!
That story cracks me up every time I tell it.

Thanks for the pics of the Shriners’ Corvettes. Not much has been written about the fleets of Corvettes that the Shriners would order. White with red interiors were the norm but in 1962 they ordered them in a Cadillac color, light purple metallic with red interiors.

I like the pic of the #48 C3 race car.
As usual, it’s hard to pick a favorite, but I had to laugh at the small store front shot with the words, “Don’s Speed Shop”! Largest in Canada! Must not been much demand in Canada for speed equipment at the time. Some of the pics beg for more information, that’s what’s so cool about them.
Very cool angle of the wide-body C3 racing Corvette with the “Deschutes County” (Oregon) script on the rear.
