Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.
This week’s dispatch comes on yesterday’s news of damage and destruction by tornados to Bowling Green and our prayers go out to all those affected. The delivery process is the final hurrah of the ordering process and the smiles on the faces of these new owners tell us that the wait is worth it. ~Words cannot express, I can only hope for the safety and recovery to the folks that were in the path of the Tornado Friday eve from Arkansas to TN and KY. Many ways to help through donations etc. Keep an eye on social media the next few days and lets lend a hand anyway that we can.
~1990 time frame. That’s me appraising a 1958 Corvette for possible trade in. I was 30 yrs old and the Corvette was 32! Now get this, 20 years later (2010) at Criswell Chevrolet of Gaithersburg, MD…I was on a test drive in a Traverse with a woman who wanted to see if it fit in her local home garage. We pull in her driveway and that same 1958 Corvette was in the 2nd bay of their garage only 2 miles from Criswell!! I told the couple the story and that I had pictures to prove it. They were shocked.

~Jennifer and Jon H. of Glen Ellen, Illinois are quite use to Corvettes as Jen’s father is Jim Miller of Pratt & Miller Engineering and Fabrication, also known as Corvette Racing! They ordered a Rapid Blue with Sky cool gray 2022 Corvette Z51 Convt. . Criswell service team prepped the car and Plycar trucking already loaded it up yesterday for the enclosed trip to their home in Illinois. Equipment list: 3LT, front lift, CF instrument panel, magnetic ride, yellow calipers, tension blue seat belts, black trident wheels, Z51 pkg, and much more!
~Angel N. of Reno, Nevada picked up her new Torch Red 2022 Corvette Convt from the Corvette Museum in BG, KY this past week and I’m sure she still has a perma-grin! Equipment list: 2LT, Red/black two tone interior, GT2 buckets, front lift, magnetic ride, bright red calipers, CF painted wheels, Z51 pkg and much more. ~Ron and Karen K. of Titusville, Florida factory ordered their new Red Mist 2022 Corvette Convt with Sky cool gray interior and I had it drop shipped for courtesy delivery to the local Chevrolet dealer to them in Sanford, Florida. This past week they took delivery and are over the moon with their new Corvette. Read their email below.
Hello Mike,
“We have our corvette and cannot thank you enough!! Between our deposit and delivery It was such an unusual and challenging journey with our interstate move, business sale, medical issues, Covid delays and all sorts of stuff. You made it seem easy all thru-out the chaotic times which made this corvette even more important to us. We do not know how you do it but we are really glad you were there to get us to the end. The only regret we have is with the changing plans we did not get a chance to meet but you know there is time ahead and we may get by your way someday in the future. So you know for any other customers that may be interested the courtesy delivery went really well. Due to your efforts we were able to track the car with Onstar for a delivery late this past Wednesday and they had the car ready for us by 2PM the next day. They did exactly what we asked for which was to only hand wash the car and the PDI list. Johnny there had the car filled with gas, gave us the rundown on the functions of the car and a quick tour and says he will continue to do these. I know they would have spent more time with us but we had a scheduling nightmare come up last minute and are just now getting back to looking at our new car. Cannot thank you enough and we will follow up with the Onstar shortly, wanted to get these pics to you right away.”

~Arun V. of Wilmington, Delaware made the 120 mile trip from his Delaware home in a 2018 Tesla that I had given him a sight unseen trade value…and drove home in his very first Corvette! ~Wasi H. of Irving, Texas factory ordered a 2022 Corvette IMSA GTLM Championship C8R edition Coupe In Hypersonic Gray metallic and of the 1,000 built this is #547. Criswell service team prepped the car and Plycar trucking will load it up in a few days for the trip to Texas. ~Gil and Clair H. of Mechanicsville, Virginia ordered a Red Mist 2022 Corvette Z51 Convt with Natural interior and today I had the pleasure of not only delivering their 3rd Corvette but I got to meet Lilly, Their 14 year old 4 legged Princess. ~Ed C. of Laurel, Maryland has bought a few vehicles from me over the years and he was really looking forward to today’s delivery of his Red Mist 2022 Corvette coupe with Natural interior. He enlisted the help of his sister Carla who resides in Annapolis, MD not only for the ride in her Lexus to Criswell today but also for his final color choice. Ed was thinking Elkhart Lake Blue and Carla voted for Red Mist for his sports car. So while Ed was completing the paperwork I started talking to Carla and realized she has been buying her Lexus vehicles from my sister in law at Lexus of Annapolis for 26 years! Small world once again. All really nice new and beautiful C8s, but WHY would anybody would anybody want a white dashboard?? Can’t believe that would even be available
That Pennant Blue 54-55 on the OK Used Car lot is cool. It just might be the first blue Corvette with a red interior. I’ve only ever seen them with beige interiors.
My favorites this week are the two ’65 C2s. The yellow side veiw and the red head on shot. Nice~
My favorites are the blue custom early C3 with the high rise L-88 hood and the blue 67 427 convertible with side pipes.
The blue ’67 427 with aluminum wheels and side exhaust looks exactly like the one I purchased new back then. Is it Lyndale blue ?
