[VIDEO] MBRP Introduces Cat-Back Exhaust for the C8 Corvette

There’s no doubt that the C8 Corvette has been a rousing success for General Motors, but one of the aspects that I really enjoy watching is all the aftermarket companies launching their own individual products for the car. Just seeing the number of different third-party exhaust systems shows how much excitement there is for the car, and the multiple systems available provide owners with a wide array of choices.

A new company stepping into the C8 space is called MBRP Automotive and they are showing off their new cat-back exhaust for the mid-engine sports car. The system connects to the factory catalytic converters and utilizes 3-inch T304 stainless steel with a high-flow X-Pipe and 4.5-inch carbon fiber tips.

Martin Barkey of MBRP shows off the system as the car is on a lift, and then we go outside to hear it as the car does a number of drive-bys. More important to those buying an aftermarket exhaust is how does it sound inside the cabin. We ride along with Martin as we get to hear it at highway speeds both in the Stingray’s regular V8 configuration but also when the car drops down into the 4-cylinder mode when the AFM is activated.

The system offers bolt-on installation on the 2020-2021 Corvettes and they are currently being sold for $1,914.69 which includes a lifetime warranty. The company does say that 2021 models may require electronic valve simulators which are available on the aftermarket.

From MBRP Automotive:

f you want the best value in a sports car, it’s gotta be the C8. If you want the best value in your C8 exhaust, it’s gotta be MBRP’s 3″ cat-back! This exhaust is aggressive! This is going to turn heads anywhere you go, but inside the cabin, it’s still moderate for long drives thanks, in part, to some great engineering by the MBRP design team with the X-pipe’s form. Available only in our top-tier T304 stainless steel with carbon fiber tips, enjoy being covered by our lifetime warranty!

  1. $2 grand for what???? How about a side by side comparison with the OE dual mode exhaust system. Until then, I’ll stick with my OEM dual mode exhaust system.

  2. Wow another over priced C8 cat back system. In my option this cat back system is worth at the most 1K.
