Today at the National Corvette Museum’s Bash Event, a virtual presentation from the Corvette Team included Executive Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juchter, Product Manager Harlan Charles, and also Corvette Chief Engineer Josh Holder who went through a recap of all the news from 2021 before turning their sights on the 2022 model year. However, their only new offering that was shown for the 2022 Corvette in addition to the three new exterior colors introduced on Thursday was a new low-profile spoiler for the 2022 Stingray.

Why the lack of news on the 2022 model year Corvettes? We personally think this confirms the Z06 will be offered as a 2022 model, but the team wasn’t quite ready to discuss it yet. But that is just speculation on our part. They did say that 2022 ordering should be ready to go in July and additional details will be forthcoming. We know that the 2022 Order Guide is expected sometime in May and that will give us a better idea of what is going to be offered for next’s year’s Corvette.

As for the new Low-Profile Spoiler, the RPO is TVS and can be ordered with or without the Z51 Performance Package. The graphic also shows that it includes a front splitter which would be for balancing the aero front and back. As it is listed as an RPO option, it would be factory-installed as well. Currently, no pricing was offered yet for the new spoiler, nor were there any details if it’s available only in body color or Carbon Flash Metallic.

We do have the slides from today’s presentation and will be sharing them in a separate post.

  1. A low rise spoiler on a 2022 C8 wasn’t needed the base C8 Stingray is already a cam back with a drop at the end of the rear desk. At least the low rise won’t each 9 mph off the C8 top end!

  2. For looks and specific performance and for a choice, this new spoiler is just what the average Corvette owner needs: more choices This more or less rounds out the spoiler options. I read the part where Keith mentions that the front spoiler with this choice, balances out the addition of the rear spoiler. This would be indicative of some R&D, rather than just a styling selection. The Corvette C8 has been very good to outstanding in their R&D efforts with regard to wind tunnel efforts. AF

  3. Terry, Engineers don’t have all the answers or know everything. And this new spoiler proves it. Because that spoiler is basically useless and does nothing. It hardly produces any useable down force so it’s more for aesthetics than anything else.
