[VIDEO] All Corvettes are Red in this Historic Photoshoot

Photo Credits: Corvette Club of Ontario

We’ve got a poster hanging on the wall of our office showing the eight generations of Corvette, courtesy of General Motors, with only the 2020 shown in red to make it stand out.

But back during the summer, the Corvette Club of Ontario took things a step further, producing its own photo showing all the generations of Corvettes from 1953 to 2020 but all coated in various shades of red – definitely living up to James Schefter’s popular behind-the-scenes book about the C5 called “All Corvettes Are Red.”

Club President James Krane was kind enough to send CorvetteBlogger a copy of the behind-the-scenes video that they produced about the making of the photo which features cars exclusively owned by club members. Though we’ve all seen examples from each of the eight generations, it’s always nice to see them all together at a “family reunion” to get a visual feel for the way Chevy’s legendary sports car has evolved through the decades.

The nicely done video, which includes views of the Corvettes from the top, the side, the front, and the back, as well as a closeup of the wheel styles, is hosted by veteran Canadian auto journalist Jim Kenzie, who notes that his first story for the Toronto Star was about the C4 Corvette. My favorite part of the video was watching a 1969 Corvette unloaded out of a truck and hearing the rumble of its exhaust as it’s backed out.

The video concludes with an impressive drive-by as they leave Legendary Motor Company, which was celebrating its 35th anniversary, that allows us to hear the way each generation has its own unique sound.

Good job, Corvette Club of Ontario!

  1. Hello!! The CORVETTE Club of Ontario LEFT OUT the 1963 Split Rear Window model !! The only one ever produced!! I own a red one and get a lot of great comments.

  2. Having reached 8 generations, a photo shoot like this has real significance to Corvette fans everywhere. Perhaps Ferrari fans thought that shoot like this could only happen to the cars from Maranello. I have no comment on Blue Face rapper here. The two tone Boomerang is one of those things that happens. I wonder if the paperwork backs it up as part of the error. If it does, the possibilities are endless. First year, mid-engine corvette with a clear error. If the pieces arrived covered, it is understandable how part of the order for body color paint could have been missed on the door portion of the boomerang. The rear of the car makes it clear that this was the body-color paint option. Just how valuable a factory error like this could be, I don’t know. However, at the present time, it is a one of one for 2020. It actually doesn’t look half-bad. The area of the internal door handle is highlighted. And pretty much everyone in the world with mid-engine Corvette interest will know about it, it the owner chooses to leave the car this way. What I would not do, is buy a secondary piece of body color, nor a black one and then put either one of them in place, while preserving the error piece or piece. I’d leave it as is and enjoy my one-of-one attention, forever, or at least as long as people remain interested in it.
