Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

Happy days are back again as the C8 Corvettes are arriving at dealerships once again and Mike shares the photos showing happy customers taking delivery of their new long-awaited sportscars. Mike shares some of his travel plans for later in the year including customer classes at Spring Mountain and the annual trek to Corvettes at Carlisle. ~There is excitement in the air at Chevrolet dealers Nationwide. C8’s are arriving again. I drove my Corvette to the local Friday night Car gathering and they had thought the C8 mid-engine was an urban myth. People flocked from all over to view and take pictures. I ran out of business cards. But seriously, now starts the process of inbound sold units…then allocations should start mid-July and let the fun begin from there. Yesterday I had 8 deliveries (2 on-site) and wrote 8 orders for 2021 Corvettes and delivered a few new Chevrolets. I stay busy through these world events and I look forward to normal times again. I miss Corvette gatherings but I understand one’s health is paramount. I will have a class full of my Corvette customers out at Spring Mountain July 23rd-26th for the C7 and then August 26th-29th is Corvette at Carlisle. I will have my C8 on display at the Spring Mountain Race Track tent just next to the GM tent on the midway infield. Stop by and say hi…from 6 feet away of course. ~My Corvette/Silverado customer and friend Tom stopped by on Thursday for his truck’s oil change. He shared some great pics of his new Detail shop at his Annapolis, MD (111 Defense Hwy) Car Wash. Chesapeake Car Wash now has Adam’s Polishes products and as you know, Adam’s is the official products of the Corvette! Adam ordered his C8 from me and its completed and headed out to California for a courtesy delivery to his Father. *Ask Tom to see his Stanley Cup Championship Ring!

~Big Happy Birthday today to this PA guy. If you ever see me at Corvettes of Carlisle, Jim and I are usually Corvette talking and walking…or eating lunch! He sent me this picture on Friday…standing in front of CrabbyJ’s C8 and wearing my hat.

~It seemed everyone enjoyed last week’s story of the picture from 1989 of me appraising a 1958 Corvette…well, sit down and read this incredible story!

This could be the best of all time.

*Back in 1992, I noticed a gentleman looking at an old muscle car that was being stored on the showroom floor. I was the Mgr of the dealership and I walked up and introduced myself. We spoke about his new 1992 Corvette he was about to take delivery of but he really wished he had his first Corvette. Jim was a Judge in Wash, DC and we formed an instant friendship. Jim mentioned he had ordered a 1967 427/435 Corvette Convt. brand new from a NY dealer and that he still had all the original paperwork including the factory window sticker! Jim sold the Corvette nicknamed the Green Machine in 1969 due to a pending family. I’ve heard that story a few thousand times. I mentioned to him my father in law owned a 1957 Corvette back in the late ’50s and since I was an NCRS member I ran the vin in an ad in the NCRS monthly magazine in search of the current owner. So in December of 1992, I ran a similar ad with the vin to Jim’s old 1967 Corvette. Winter of 2005 and Jim had contacted me about ordering a 2005 Corvette Convt. A Couple weeks later almost 13 years to the day I get a phone call at 10 pm on my home phone. A gentleman asks me if I still have the paperwork to the green 67 Convt? I had instant recall of the one-time ad I ran in NCRS and asked incredulously…how did you find me? Gary said he kept a log of every 1967 vin ever posted and he had just bought the Green Machine the night before and would like to get the paperwork. I told him I couldn’t call Jim this late at night but that I would call him first thing in the morning in his chambers. So I called Jim at 9 am sharp the next day and asked him if he was sitting down? He said no, so I told him to sit down! I proceeded to tell him about the previous night’s phone call and Jim said he was glad he was sitting down! Still in shock, I told him that I would put them together. I said for him to come to the dealership with all the original paperwork and I would catalog it all so Gary would know what he was buying. Jim had 19 different items from point of sale but the holy grail was the original window sticker that he had saved all of these decades. Gary lived 250 miles North of Washington, DC but his son worked in Washington and he asked Jim if he could send his son over to view the items and hand him a check? Jim said sure…now get this…Gary’s son worked in the same building and on the same floor as Jim!!! What are the chances? Gary’s son went left out of the elevator and Jim went right. An incredible true story that Jim and I have told dozens if not hundreds of times over the years we have known each other. Jim still has the 1992 and 2005 Corvettes and is awaiting delivery of a new 2020 Corvette. The picture of Jim and I below was taken on the stage at the C8 reveal in Tustin, California.

C8 deliveries…

~Steve and Melinda H. of Lexington, KY started a C8 deal folder with me a couple of years ago but really Steve is my #1 KY connection for referrals. I sell approx 25-35 Corvettes to Kentucky residents per year and I bet Steve knows half of them. Last September I flew into Lexington, KY, and spoke to 400 Corvette club members at their banquet before driving down in the 165 Corvette caravan to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. We had a blast and Steve and Melinda said that I am welcome anytime to stay in their guest room again. Steve has a top-flight garage awaiting the 7th Corvette that he has owned, his first was at the age of 17. Steve ordered his Corvette to be drop-shipped to his local dealer in Nicholasville, KY and their service dept even put on his new aftermarket wheels. Elkhart Lake Blue with two-tone Sky cool gray/ Black interior looks stunning! This Z51 has the 2LT pkg, GT2 bucket seats, and tension blue seat belts. Thank you Steve and Melinda for your business and of course your friendship. I value you two tremendously…see you at the Carlisle event in August.

~Lon S. of Waterbury, CT placed his order for a loaded Blade Silver 2020 Z51 coupe. This will be Lon’s 13th Corvette! His new Corvette just got produced and he left his CT home this morning to drive to his NC home and decided to stop at Criswell to do the paperwork in person. His Corvette should arrive soon and he has arranged an enclosed trailer to pick up and deliver his C8 to his Connecticut driveway. Blade Silver with adrenaline red interior, front lift, CF trim, magnetic ride, bright red calipers, CF painted wheels, composite rockers, CF painted mirrors, engine appearance pkg, torch red seat belts, 3LT pkg and much more. My only regret was we were unable to shake hands. Lon is a long time Corvette enthusiast and it was my pleasure to meet him. Lon on left and Steve K. on the right.

~Brad Paisley of West Virginia is a huge Corvette fan, even gifted a Corvette to his Father one time. The worldwide known singer took Museum delivery on Friday of a Long Beach Red C8 with yellow seat belts to match his yellow calipers. Thank you Katie for the pics.

~A big shoutout as my High School and College Wrestling coaches had their birthdays this week. My high school coach celebrates with a handstand, now 77 yrs young and my Univ of Maryland Coach turned 85, seen here with his daughter. Both men were very influential in my life.
