Corvette Racing one of the premier racing organizations on the planet and while fans like to call attention to the multiple Le Mans wins or class championships over the last 20+ years, the team is also well-known for its innovations in driver safety.

Our friends at Mobil 1 the Grid take a closer look at how the Corvette team maintains its safety-first philosophy.

Corvette Racing has led the way in helping keep their drivers safe, and each major crash is an opportunity to review the data and determine if any changes to the safety protocols need to be implemented.

Corvette Racing’s Team Owner Gary Pratt says “It’s been a great partner with Chevrolet and every time we come up with something they’re all in, especially on the safety side and the engineering side we tend to be leading-edge: Our seats were not adjustable, we thought that was a safety issue – now it’s against the rules to have an adjustable seat. We added the leg boards for the drivers ten years ago or so. So we’re way ahead. We want the guy coming home with no problems. That’s been a number one goal.”
