Each week, Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvette Stingrays, Grand Sports, Z06s and ZR1s to his customers who come from all parts of the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.
In this week’s delivery post, Mike tells us he will be making his third trip this year to Spring Mountain with 20 customers! You know that’s going to be a fun few days! New Corvettes (and a Camaro!) were delivered to customers from California to Virginia! Remember you don’t have to be a local to get your dream Corvette! ~October 2nd-5th I will be hosting 20 of my customers from around the USA at Ron Fellows Spring Mountain Race Track in Pahrump, Nevada. This will be my third trip with customers to Spring Mountain this year!
Zora Duntov would certainly have a lot to say about the C8…although he passed away in 1996…his presence is still felt.

Roger G. of El Cerrito, California contacted me 12 weeks ago to place a factory order for a TORCH red 2019 Corvette Z51 cpe with jet black interior. I had it drop shipped to his local Chevrolet dealer in Colfax, California for courtesy delivery. Last week he picked up his new Corvette and his only regret is he should have done it years ago. Equipment list: 7spd manual transmission, magnetic ride control and 2LT pkg.
Paul F. of North Potomac, Maryland has been seeking just the right Corvette to be his very first Corvette owned…he has watched my inventory both new and used on my Corvette dedicated web site CorvetteFurman. Last week he noticed I traded in my Elkhart Lake Blue 2019 Stingray and he swooped in and bought it. Today he took delivery and had a perma smile the entire morning. Equipment list: 7spd manual transmission, Competition seats, code 198 black interior with Blue stitching, performance exhaust, motorsports polished wheels, red seat belts and 3LT pkg.
James ”Moose” D. of Herndon, VA and I go back to 2005 when he was just 14…even then I knew he would be a future Camaro or Corvette buyer as he always had great Car questions. His parents are customers/friends of mine so when it came time for Moose to order his very first Camaro…he came to my office at Criswell. Moose chose Summit White for his 2020 Camaro SS 1LE cpe. Equipment list: 1LE Track Performance Pkg, Navigation, Sport alloy pedals, Red brake calipers, 6.2 V8 engine and 6spd manual transmission. This Camaro will share garage space with some other cool muscle cars in the family collection.
Bruce C. of Chesapeake, Virginia ordered a brand new 2014 Corvette Convt from me 5 years ago and was doing great until Mid June when it was totaled by a distracted driver. Bruce called me up to get a new Corvette Convt but the 2019 Convertible ordering deadline had passed. So I took a look at future stock orders in the system and this Torch Red 2019 Stingray was just the one he wanted. Bruce waited 6 weeks and Monday night he and his wife stayed overnight locally and arrived early this morning for Corvette #3! Equipment list: Auto transmission, 1LT Pkg, and Performance exhaust. Monday afternoon they drove the 250 miles home and Bruce was glad to be back in a Corvette again! I also stated he won best color-coordinated to their new Corvette award.
Allen H. of Blacksburg, Virginia was referred to me by another Corvette customer of mine so he placed his factory order with me 6 weeks ago. Allen and his friend Randy drove 5 hrs up last night and stayed overnight. This morning he came in to settle up the payment/paperwork and now he has hired Plycar trucking to enclose truck deliver his new Long Beach Red 2019 Corvette Z06 to his driveway after all the LPO accessories arrive. Equipment list: Kalahari interior, Competition seats, visible carbon fiber ground effects pkg, Carbon fiber instrument panel, yellow calipers, 7 Spd manual transmission, performance air intake, Z07 ultimate performance pkg, 3LZ pkg and much more.

If you ever wanted to know why most all car painters are just a bit weird just look at the custom paint on that C1. How in the world could a “normal” person mask, paint, mask again, paint again numerous times and have it turning out looking good ?
I love the first pic in the throwback section which shows the LeMans Blue/blue ’69 L-88 convertible. What an incredible angle for a picture!

You are so right. People do not realize the amount of talent those guys had!
I had a Riverside Red/black split window Fuelie in the mid 70s. There was an all-Corvette body shop about 75 miles from me and the owner was the master painter of Corvettes in this area then, both original and custom! I took my car to him. The paint job took 4 months to complete. But during that time, I saw a custom car go thru there that he did a paint job like this one on. It was amazing to look at. All the details, intricacies and small things that I saw each time I looked at that car. It was very similar to the C1 above you mention.
So, about 4 or 5 years ago, I saw a ’68 L-71 427 Corvette for sale on ebay with a very similar paint job. The seller had known the car since the early 70s. Previous owner was a friend of his. And he said the car was painted in the 70s and still had all of that paint! The car was also from an area very near that body shop that did my car. So, I had to message the owner to ask the name of the place that painted it. And sure enough it was the same body shop and painter!!! I knew it.
He told me many people messaged him saying they liked the car but hated the paint job. I told him that was something that people had to be there during that time when it took place to love it. But I, for one, LOVE it!
Saved the best for last, the awesome tribute to 9-11-01 – Kudos to the artist and the owner that paid for it to be done and make his statement.
