One of the draws of SEMA is that you know you are going to see some cool custom cars and in our opinion, one of the best custom vettes on display at this year’s show was Rod Saboury’s 1963 Split Window Corvette he calls “Black Widow”. If Rod’s name rings a bell, it’s because Saboury was also the man behind the World’s fastest street Legal 1963 Corvette drag car which we featured just last month.
Not many people have seen a 1963 Corvette Grand Sport in action, but the Simeone Automotive Museum in Philadelphia is offering enthusiasts just such a rare opportunity later this month.
During a weekend full of exciting activities on November 16 and 17, the Simeone Museum will take its 1963 #002 Grand Sport onto its back lot and demonstrate it for the public.
The demonstration will be the culmination of a special Corvette Racing Legends event set that weekend at the museum.
When you think about Corvettes, going muddin’ is usually not the first thing that pops into your mind.
But a couple of guys named Dan Linden and Tom Hahn are quickly putting a halt to that kind of thinking.
They’ve constructed the Mud Slinger, a 4×4 atop a gigantic set of tires and sporting the look of a 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe.

One possible contender for the title at this year’s highly anticipated OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational coming up in less than a month is this awesome 1967 Corvette owned by Jeff Cleary, whose creation has been featured on the cover of prominent magazines for years.
A dream is literally coming true for Dean Tarkowski as he restores a 1966 Corvette owned by his late father.
“After his death (from cancer in 2009), I was going through some items in his attic and came across some things I dreamed I would find,” Tarkowski says.
This classic Corvette was a total loss and its driver was badly burned after a two-vehicle accident in Tempe, AZ this Monday.
Police said the Corvette was rear ended by a pickup truck and the impact spun the sports car out into the intersection where it caught fire. The driver of the Corvette was on fire after exiting his car and he suffered second degree burns.

That’s right, a 1967 Corvette once owned by Neil Armstrong – known for his “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” – is on its way back to being carefully restored, thanks to new owner Joe Crosby. Crosby has commissioned a team of experts, led by respected automobile preservation activist Eric Gill, to lead the project, which could take years because they want the job done right since its owner was such an important part of world history.

If you live up in Northwest Washington State, be on the lookout for a Nassau Blue 1965 Corvette Coupe and an all-original 1970 Chevelle SS that were stolen from a warehouse in Puyallup, south of Seattle. The two classic cars were owned by Gary Tucci and were stolen sometime last Wednesday night.
Here is an honest to goodness Corvette barn find that just saw the light of day in California. According to a posting on the Corvette Forum by “Bruce at Billet”, this original one-owner 1963 Corvette was last on the road in 1979. It was parked in that barn for whatever reason, where it sat untouched for 33 years.
