SEMA 2011: Glassworks Corvette Top Lift System

The benefit of having an auxiliary hardtop for your roadster is that you can drive your Corvette longer as the weather turns cooler, thereby extending your driving season for an extra couple of months each year. But putting that hardtop on your Corvette, or removing it when the weather turns nice can be a real struggle. You can call the wife out to the garage, go get a neighbor or attempt to do it yourself, but it only takes one careless move to damage the top or worse, the back of your Corvette. So when we saw the Glassworks Lift System at SEMA, we knew we had to spread the word on this innovative product.

[PIC] Corvette is Main Attraction in Long Beach, Washington Circa 1964

One of my favorite features from Hemmings is the vintage photographs showing life in America from the view on the street. This photo shows downtown Long Beach, Washington in what is believed to be the summer or early fall of 1964 shows a crowded street with a Riverside Red mid-year Corvette driving away from the camera. Bunkie Knudsen’s 1964 Corvette to be Displayed at SEMA

A custom 1964 style Corvette that was once owned by Chevrolet General Manager Semon E. “Bunkie” Knudsen will be on display at Mid America Motorwork’s SEMA booth in Las Vegas next month. The Corvette will be the centerpiece display by the Corvette catalog company and will showcase MA Motorwork’s Performance Choice interior products.

[PICS] Paragon Reproductions 2011 Open House

Paragon Reproductions hosted their annual open house a couple of weekends ago at their sprawling facility in Rankin, MI. Attendees were able to wander each of the several buildings on the grounds, buy a host of C1 – C4 Corvette parts, and enjoy a complementary lunch. Of course, one could also check out the 100 or so Corvettes that showed up too. We made a late summer road trip up to Paragon and you see can see some of our photos from the event after the break.

The 4th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector car auction in Las Vegas concluded Saturday night with 46 Corvettes crossing the auction block over the 3-day sale. [PIC] Texas Wildfires Burn Corvettes and other Classic Cars

I caught this article on Jalopnik this afternoon about the fires in Texas destroying a huge car collection. John Chapman and his family are okay after one of the Texas wildfires ravaged his property in Bastrop. His house got singed by the flames but came though okay. Unfortunately, the fire burned his collection of 175 classic and vintage cars including a dozen Corvettes.
