Corvettes and More Offered This Week at Mecum’s Orlando Summer Special

Our friends at Mecum Auctions are back in Florida this week for the Orlando Summer Special auction held July 6-9th at the Orange County Convention Center. Over 1,500 vehicles will be going through the four-day sale including 120 Corvettes! After checking out the Corvette consignments, we’ve got these four on our must-watch list.

1961 Corvette Restomod

This wild 1961 Corvette restomod is guaranteed to turn heads wherever you go. The roadster rides on an Art Morrison chassis and is powered by a 505-hp LS7 crate motor which is coupled to a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission. There is almost too much to list but options include a custom interior and trunk with custom bucket seats finished in Camel Tan leather. The body was given the restomod treatment with the side window glass removed and the top mounting points deleted and then painted in House of Kolor’s citric-hue Tangelo and custom Cream two-tone finish. The Corvette rides on 18-inch Foose Legend wheels covered with Nitto NT555 tires. The restomod was the 1st place winner at the 2019 Grand National Roadster Show and it was featured in Super Chevy Magazine. This 1961 Corvette is Lot# S101 and will cross the block on Saturday, July 9th.


1963 Corvette Split-Window Coupe


It’s not an auction until a 1963 Corvette Split-Window Coupe is offered and you’ll see this one cross the block on Saturday, July 9th. The Coupe features the desirable L84 fuel-injected motor which offered 360 horsepower and a 4-speed manual transmission. The car has previously undergone a frame-off Concours restoration. It’s finished in Sebring Silver with a Black interior. Options include Kelsey Hayes knock-off wheels with white stripe tires, power windows, and an AM/FM radio. The Sting Ray Coupe is documented with the original manual, warranty booklet, 1963 Chevrolet Corvette New Product booklet, and the NCRS Shipping Data Report. The ’63 Corvette Coupe is Lot #S162.


2019 Corvette ZR1


This 2019 Corvette ZR1 is offered in the desirable color combination of Arctic White and Adrenaline Red Interior just like the original Corvettes from 1953! This ZR1 comes ready for fun with the high wing ZTK Performance Package and the 7-speed manual transmission with active rev matching. The ZTK package also brings carbon ceramic brakes, multi-mode exhaust, and Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 2 tires. The Corvette has the 3ZR trim package and its options include the chrome ZR1 wheels, carbon fiber and sueded microfiber steering wheel, head up display, and more! The 2019 Corvette ZR1 is lot# S107.1 and will be sold on Saturday, July 9th.


2022 Corvette C8.R Edition Convertible

The 2022 Corvette C8.R IMSA GTLM Championship Edition was the first special edition of the C8 Corvette era and Chevrolet sold all 1000 examples within just a few months. This is number 431 and its offered as a Hypersonic Gray Convertible with the No. 4 Corvette livery and the Strike Yellow/Sky Cool Gray leather interior. All C8.R Editions were equipped with the 6.2-liter 495-HP LT2 V8 engine with the Z51 Performance Package. Other options include a 3LT trim package with Carbon Flash Nacelles, Magnetic Ride Control, and Front lift. This car is brand new with just 67 miles on the odometer. This 2022 Corvette C8.R Edition is Lot #T260 and will be sold Thursday, July 7th.
