[PICS] Corvettes at the North American International Auto Show

Each January all eyes on the automotive world focus on the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. All the major carmakers roll out their latest creations and concepts for the world to see. This year General Motors created a whole new display to highlight their portfolio of products. We grabbed a couple of tickets to the ritzy charity preview event so we could check out all the good stuff before the show opened to the public.

The Quest Documentary to be Screened at the Arizona Biltmore

The Chip Miller Charitable Foundation will hold a special showing of the “The Quest”, the Chip Miller/1960 Le Mans documentary this Sunday afternoon at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Arizona. Bloomington Gold Corvette Show Moving to Champaign, IL in 2013

The team at Bloomington Gold has announced that beginning in 2013 the annual Bloomington Gold Corvette show will be held in Champaign, Illinois on the campus of the University of Illinois. The new location is about 50 miles southeast of where the show was first born back in 1973.

GM Builds its 100-Millionth Small Block Engine

General Motors has celebrated a major milestone today at Wixom’s Performance Build Center by building its 100-millionth small block engine. The engine chosen as the milestone motor is none other than the Corvette ZR1′s 638 horsepower LS9. Since 1955, the small block has been used in GM vehicles around the world and can also be found marine and industrial applications as well.
