1957 Riley Children’s Foundation Charity Car

1957 Riley Children's Foundation Charity Car

We love how many auction houses take a moment during an event to auction a car for charity. Freije’s Big Boy Toy Sale will offer this 1957 Corvette to the highest bidder with the proceeds going to the Riley Children’s Foundation. The non-profit in Indiana helps support the children in the state by offering access to healthcare, as well as specialty care, and they are partnered with the Riley Children’s Health and Indiana University School of Medicine to identify top fundraising priorities.

This 1957 Corvette is offered in “Riley Red” with white Coves and a removable hard top. It’s powered by a 283 ci V8 topped with dual four-barrel carburetors and mated to an upgraded 4-speed manual transmission. Options for the car include the original 3-speed auto which comes with the car, the 3.70 straight rear axle, and white wall tires with bright silver wheel covers. Inside is a classic Red interior with white dash, upgraded AM/FM radio (original comes with the car), factory tach and clock. The odometer shows 5,734 miles. Documentation includes receipts and an extensive list of repairs recently made to the car.

1978 25th Anniversary Edition with 2,930 Original Miles

TITLE

The 1978 model year was pivotal for the Corvette. Not only did the model celebrate its 25th Anniversary, but it did so by offering a Silver Anniversary special edition model featuring a unique two-tone exterior. One of those who purchased the special edition was Mary LeMay of Brazil, Indiana and the sale features her statement detailing the history of the car. It was originally purchased from Froderman Chevrolet in Brazil, Indiana and she kept the car until 2016 when it was sold to a friend with mileage showing around 2,850 on the odometer. That friend also signed a statement detailing her ownership of the car. It’s now showing 2,930 miles while the title reads exempt.

This 1978 Silver Anniversary model looks to be in excellent condition with both owners stating it was always stored indoors and never driven in poor weather. This 25th Anniversary Corvette features the upgraded 350 cubic inch L82 V8 mated to an automatic transmission and options include leather seats, air conditioning, power windows, power steering, aluminum wheels and the CB Radio. The original P225/70R15 Goodyear Polysteel Radial tires are still on the car!

1990 Corvette ZR-1

1990 Corvette ZR-1

The C4 Corvette ZR-1s were a real departure for the Corvette brand as Chevrolet partnered with Mercury Marine to build a new high tech 32-valve DOHC V8 engine designed by Lotus that was capable of 375 hp. The regular Corvette body was widened by 3 inches to accommodate the larger rear wheels while also improving handling. These ZR1s weren’t cheap with the high-performance option priced at $27,016 compared to the price of a regular base Corvette starting at nearly $32K. And yet, Chevy sold 3,032 during the first year it was offered.

Coming to Big Boy Toy Spring Sale is a 1990 Corvette ZR-1 in Bright Red with a Saddle Leather interior and silver 5-spoke wheels. Options include a 6-speed manual transmission, power windows, power steering, cruise control and air conditioning. The current reading on the odometer is 62,508.
