Corvette fanatics probably think they have died and gone to heaven when they walk into the showroom at ProTeam Corvette Sales.
And little wonder.
Owner’s Terry Michaelis and his brother Fred – who have been in the Corvette hobby since the early 1970s, when they first began buying and fixing up used models – currently have the world’s largest collection of classic Corvettes in a collection of surprisingly simple buildings in the small Ohio town of Napoleon.
You’re never too old to hang a Corvette in the sky.
Larry Bennett is proof of that.
At age 27, back in 1970, he placed a brand new orange Corvette atop his car lot’s sign when he opened it in Evansville, Indiana. He ended up selling the business in 1996, and the car came down.
Last week, General Motors released the April 2012 sales report and new deliveries of America’s favorite sports car came in at 1,396. This is down 4% from April 2011′s sales figure of 1,454 but was an increase over the 1,376 Corvettes sold last month (March 2012). This is now the 4th month in row for Corvette sales increases over the previous month and April’s sales number is the highest in a year. For the calendar year, 4,328 Corvettes have been sold and the number is pacing 0.8% ahead of 2011′s calendar year sales.
If you’re a Corvette fanatic, you’re well aware of all the great fun that you can have at Corvettes at Carlisle, which will be held this year on August 26-28 at the Carlisle, Pennsylvania Fairgrounds.
This year the largest and most fun filled Corvette event will again feature a Sunday giveaway that will feature a very nice 1998 Corvette Coupe with just 24,000 miles on the odometer.
Allvette.net will again provide the Corvette for the annual giveaway, and their latest car is a real beauty – featuring Sebring Silver Metallic on the exterior and black leather on the interior. The fully loaded Vette has been pampered during its entire life, and it shows.
A new free trade agreement between the United States and Korea means that 2012 Corvettes will be on sale for the first time in Korea, beginning on May 4.
General Motors’ South Korean branch – GM Korea Co. – announced the decision today after the import tax for American-made vehicles was cut in half to 4 percent thanks to a free trade agreement between the U.S. and Korea which took effect in March.

Our friends are Jalopnik.com recently shared a tale that should make every Corvette owner’s blood boil with anger and sadness.

In a press release shared on its facebook page today, Chevrolet Mexico has announced that the Corvette ZR1 and the two Grand Sport models will be available for sale at four retail outlets across the country starting in April. Customers will be able to visit these dedicated “Performance Stores” to shop and custom order America’s sports car.
