Here’s your first look at Corvette Racing’s new 5.5L flat-plane crank V8 engine that will be powering the C8.R race cars this season, as well as possibly a future C8 Z06 street car!

Just two slots remain in our seven-week, 21 Corvette salute to the front-engine models of yore. Our final silver medalist mirrors yesterday’s bronze with one of the greatest one-two punches in automotive history. You may remember these cars from last week’s countdown but both of them were infused with significant enough upgrades to warrant a second look.

Chevrolet has a new car on the show circuit that is sure to turn heads as the 2020 Corvette Stingray Convertible in Accelerate Yellow made its debut this week at the San Diego International Auto Show.
Happy New Year Corvette friends! As the calendar clicks over to 2020 and the dawn of a new decade we’re immediately thrust into the annual frenzy known as the January collector car auctions. Auction mania kicks off promptly Thursday, January 2nd with Mecum’s monster Kissimmee sale in Florida.
It is officially 2020, the year of the mid-engine Corvette, and with it comes the final edition of our seven-week-long Countdown of the Best Corvettes from each decade! It has been a wild ride full of incredible machines, good conversation, and heated debate.
Before you ask, we didn’t include the C8 for consideration this week as its model year and its start date for production fall outside of this week’s window of 2010-19. Even if we decided to include the new Stingray on the extensive list of ’10s ‘Vettes, we weren’t sure it would make the cut. We just wrapped up an all-time great decade of Corvette production and the eighth generation of America’s Sports Car, while off to an extremely promising start, still has a lot to prove.
